Does anyone know what's coming in up by the new Home Depot? I saw a sign there announcing a new shopping center, but I could not tell if the sign had details on what exactly we could expect. Does anyone know?

I recently saw a sign right after you turn off the Greenway exit listing 4 pad sites for restaurants. I hope they are not all for fast food chains.

Story I heard was a few restaurants, a gas station, and possibly a Target.

A Target would be wonderful. No more creative driving techniques to get in and out of the Sterling location.

That'd be nice. Traffic is always a nightmare there.

Target would be great! It's one of the few retailers that people actually want in their community. For example, you never see people protesting against Target as you do Wal-Mart.
I think we all agree that a few more non-fast food restaurant choices would be welcome here.

I'd kill for a Krystal or Krispy Kreme. I miss the south sometimes. :)

I just went to Target's website and couldn't find anything about future development. I also noticed some new construction in Leesburg next to the Kohl's there - that *looks* like it could be a Target but no signs were posted.

Does anyone know the developer of this Home Depot shopping center? I looked at Sauls and Tetra Partnerships and neither of them are doing it.

We're in the south! I grew up very close to a Krispy Kreme in Alexandria on Rt1. When the wind was blowing just right, I could smell it from my front door. There's nothing better than fresh hot off the conveyor belt glazed donuts. YUMMMMMM.

    Sorry don't like Krystal burgers.

You're not truly in the south until there's a Krispy Kreme, Waffle House, and Cracker Barrel at every exit. :) Sure, there is one Kripsy Kreme in NOVA, but back home they are everywhere. There are several in MD, but not much more. I wonder who owns the franchise rights in this area...they seem to be slacking. :)

Krystals are pretty nasty, but there are those times when that's the only thing you want. :) For those that don't know, Krystals are little square burgers made out of pressed/formed meat...kinda like White Castle.

Other regional places that would be good here: In N' Out, Fatburger (both West Coast), Sonic.

Speaking of fast food, why are there no Captian D's/Long John Silvers up here anywhere? I think there's a D's in Manassas but I'm not going that far. :) Ever since I moved up here four years ago, I've been perplexed that there are no fast food seafood places.

Here's a restaurant market research question for all of you:

Would anyone here eat at a vegetarian restaurant if we opened one nearby? We're seriously considering it, but we would have to come up with a cool name.

Thanks for the info! At least it sounds like it will not be another grocery.

I'm sure it will have a dry cleaner, nail salon, asian restaurant, and a framing place, though.

EDIT: And probably another Starbucks, too. :) What with it being so close to the toll road, I'm sure commuters woudl stop there in the morning for their coffee.

I certainly would!!! Although you do not mention what type of vegetarian food you have in mind, I know when I lived in India some of the vegetarian restaurants there had the most delicious food. Tell us more please!

Chris, I would definitely eat at a vegetarian restaurant. Very tasty foods as a lot more imagination has to be put into them than just sticking a steak on the grill. I'm from UK and there are loads of vegetarian restaurants there, I'm surprised there aren't more here - I guess they're all down nearer to DC.
