This is still the best and freshest Asian food in the whole Ashburn area. If you haven't been there in a while, go. Their food preparation, customer service and varitey of food is outstanding. I wasn't a big fan when they first opened but now we are there at least three times a month. I hope they are one of the restaurants that are doing well in this economy because it would suck if they closed.

I have to comment on Cafe Opera. Used to be a fan (see above) but recently the food is drab. Lots of veggies, watery sauce, meat or shrimp that tastes like it was cooked separately from the main dish. Wait times for delivery over an hour and not cheap. Sorry, but you can get much better food dine-in at Bangrak for less than the steep prices you pay for an unsatisfactory product and delivery service from Cafe Opera. And they were our go-to delivery place for years. Gonna have to rethink.

I tend to think Thai food in general is so much better than Chinese (at least americanized chinese), more interesting flavors, better quality ingredients, less salt, oil, MSG, etc, and we have several very good Thai restaurants in the area. I rarely eat Chinese anymore, but I do think Cafe Opera is one of the better ones.

My family eats here practically every week. Food hasn't changed so not sure what some of you have experienced. Also the management is AWESOME... if you don't like something or it's bad... talk to them. They are a local family and they want to do well and make you happy.

That's our weekly chinese go-to... tasty, fast delivery, and hot (temp hot, not spicy hot..for that you need to specify extra peppers in the General Tso:madflame:).

So we decided to give it another go, after poor experience last time. Sad to say this time was worse - is it just their delivery food that is mediocre? I had sesame shrimp which was vinegary, hard to find and over cooked limp veggies (two mini broccoli florets), uninspired and just didn't taste very nice (at $14 no less). Hubby had curry shrimp which was ok, if a bit watery. Heavy on the oil too.

Is Chopsticks any better, because Opera has let us down too many times? I really wonder how one kitchen can produce Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, and more? Maybe a little focus would help and less of trying to please every Asian palette.

My personal experience for the last 6 months or so is that their restaurant service and food quality is top notch, but the quality of their delivery food has gone downhill, both in quality and quantity. Very odd for food coming out of the same kitchen, but seems to be the case for us.

At this point, if we want delivery, we do Happy Chopsticks. If have time to sit down in the restaurant, it's Cafe Opera.
