I just had Washington Gas install a split meter. I would like to have a professional run ~ 40' from the meter to my deck.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you,
    Brent

A licensed plumber should be able to assist although I do not have one to recommend. And I think WA Gas has referrals. You can check with them.

Washington Gas only gave one name. They quoted much higher than I thought the job would be. I would like a second quote, if possible.

    Thank you,

    btberger and others--

My husband installed our gas line himself (he is a DIY-er and an Electrical Engineer Manager) when we built our home for our gas grill. We save alot of money with hubby doing jobs. Maybe I should hire him out-- We pulled our own permits and had a Loudoun County Inspector sign off on the permits.

A plumbing company that we recommend is part of Bowman Heating & Cooling. Even though the business is a HVAC company, Bowman also has a plumbing division. Great service and will even come out to Lucketts (where our farm is located)!

Web site is below. Read the other posts about Bowman Heating on the forum threads. Just do a Search for Bowman Heating, etc.

    www.bowmanheating.com (Bowman's Heating site/info).

Any more questions, please feel free to PM me, and I will ask hubby to provide info, etc.

    Good luck--

I forgot to add that Bowman Everett Plumbing, I believe, is the Bowman Plumbing Company division of Bowman's Heating & Cooling. I think that Bowman Everett is a brother or other relative(s) related to the HVAC division. Just call Bowman's Heating and verify.

Bowman Everett's Plumbing phone and info is below.

Phone (703) 435-5512 and located on Shaw Road in Sterling, VA.

    Brent,

We used Johnson Polar Heating & Cooling to run a gas line when we changed our cooking stove from electric to gas. Sorry, I dont have their # handy but do a search on yellowpages.com and you should get their #.

    btberger and others--

    Glad to have been helpful.

We just returned from Sarasota, FL from vacation and a family reunion of 100 relatives. By the way, and off topic, my grandmother is doing better since she broke her arm. My grandparents' farm is going like "gangbusters". Boy, "y'all" must have alot of rain while we were away! Our produce is coming in like crazy on our farm!

    Brent--

I asked my husband for the details and contact info for you to run the pipe yourself like he did. By the way, when you read my PM and gather your info and finish the job, would you please post your end results of your DIY job on this post? That way you can share with other DIY-ers.

If any one you DIY-ers need the contact info for the Loudoun Inspector, my husband said the Inspector's name was Brown Spence for plumbing. Double check the name with the County's web site.

    Good luck--
