Been a fun year...but this is where is starts counting! How deep will the Caps go in the playoffs?

I think I read in Sports Illustrated that they picked the Caps to make it to the Finals against Vancouver and lose in 6. A lot depends on Jose (as is the case in all hockey playoffs) and whether or not he plays to top form or is more like swiss cheese. I see no reason why the Caps shouldn't make it to at least the Eastern Conference finals.

I would love to see them make the Cup finals against San Jose so I can try and make it up to a game up north.

As a true fan, they will go all the way. Realistically, if they make it past round 2 I will be very pleased.

I agree with the post about Jose, but I think the D needs to step up a little more. I appreciate all the goals that Greenie has racked up, but maybe if he were back doing his job, Jose would have a little more help. I read in an article in the Post today that Green was improving on Defense. IMPROVING? Shouldn't he already be great at it considering that's his position?

    My 2 cents.

Wow! I don't think it's Green's fault at all. He's being considered for the Norris Award this year and it's not just for his scoring. I believe he leads the team in ice time and is second in +/- (he's at +24 and Semin is +25). He doesn't just score goals. Is he the Caps best defensive minded defensman? I doubt it, but to say it's his fault for Jose's high GAA, I think that's pushing it.

    Just my $.02

Oh no, that's not my point. I'm not saying it's Green's fault... I'm just saying it's not all on Jose's shoulders, even though goalie is the last line of defense.

Regardless of how the defense played last night (wow...not good), Theodore SHOULD have stopped at least two of those goals. Any NHL caliber goaltender MUST stop those in the playoffs or they will go no where!
    It's only Game 1...right?

In playoff, you live or die by the goalie play. For the Caps sake, hope Theodore improves his play. I think the third goal he allowed was the worst. It almost looked like he was caught sleeping. Sad.
