I don't know what the name is - this is why I asked. I think it's named for a green leafy vegetable, similar to collards, used often in cooking caribbean food. If and when it does open it will be a nice addition to all the ethnic restaurants in the area. I will try to find our more about it - if I can - and share it here.

The woman opening it is a friend of mine, but I do not know the name. She has a good rep as a phenomenal cook and I don't think it will disappoint. I'll ask her the next time I see her.

Calling all Caribbean food lovers  - the restaurant is called "Callaloo Cuisine". It's due to open in early spring. This contemporary but elegant restaurant will seat 60 with an additional 20 seats available on the patio.

Entrees will range from $11 - $18 and up. Here's a peek at some of the entree selections: Curry Chicken, Tica Lamb Chops, Fish, Shrimp, Oxtail and more!

They're supporting the Van Metre 5-mile run so they'll have a stand/booth set up with food samples. See you there!

Just wanted to pass along that the name of the future Caribbean restaurant is Cabbaloo. (Hope I spelled that right. As KTdid said, it's a leafy green vegetable similar to collards and used in Caribbean dishes.) They're planning on June opening. In the meantime, they're doing the food for the Van Metre 5K this weekend. Didn't think to ask if it would be Caribbean food.
