I'm curious what folks think of this animal hospital, comments?

Looking for a new vet that is closer than the one I currently take my dogs to in Sterling Park.

    Thanks

I had a good experience during a routine checkup and vaccines. Not as pushy with selling you extra stuff and services as Stream Valley which is the reason why we left them.

Caring Hands is awesome! I take both dogs and my cat there, and have for over 5 years. The staff is knowledgable, caring, and my doctor came in on her day off to care for Bella who was sick. Dr Dillion is very dedicated to my babies, as all the docs seem to be.

We switched to Caring Hands and have been nothing but pleased--their prices are very reasonable too.

We have switched both of our dogs to Caring Hands and have been very happy so far. I would recommend trying them out.

Ditto to what everyone else has said. I've met two of the dr's and they are both great with my dog. I don't feel totally overcharged when I leave there.

We switched over to the Animal Medical Center in Brambleton after having been at Pender in Fairfax for over 10 years. We saw Dr. Converse many, many times in the last few months of our kitty's life and she was very compassionate and understanding. We especially liked that she gave us all the options to let us choose our path with kitty's renal failure and wasn't pushy (as we'd been experiencing at Pender; along with the long drive).

I walked into Caring Hands one weekday afternoon when we were figuring out where to change vets too. I wasn't impressed with the girl working the front desk and the environment seemed very cold to me. JMO.

Our dog is only due for annual visits but now that we made the switch to the vet in Brambleton for the cat, we'll move the dog as well. We are very happy there.

We take both of our cats to Dr. B. at Caring Hands and have been very happy there. They were very accommodating even when we dropped in without an appointment once. They had recently opened and we assumed -- incorrectly -- that they wouldn't be busy, but they still fit us in and got our cat looked at and given proper care. One of our cats is very fiesty and uncooperative but Dr. B. has always been very patient and caring with her.

We've been taking our cat to them. We have seen one of lady vets and the one of the two guy vets so far. We REALLY like the one guy that we have seen there. I wish I could remember his name but it is late :). I didn't mind the lady but my cat seemed to bond with the guy and instantly trust him which this was a 5 star cat at the ashburn animal clinic. Gibson does not take kindly to vets and she allows them to do whatever they need to do to her. Very pleased with them so far.

We've been dealing with dental issues with our dog lately. Our last 2 vets have been recommending sedated dental cleanings. We've had it done once 2 years ago but I am very leery of sedated dental and don't want to put our 4 year old dog through it again so soon (not to mention the $600 fee). I'm planning on taking him to Caring hands here in a few days to have a third opinion. I've had dogs my whole life and I've never had dental issues like this. Of course this is my first time having a dog in this area...

you may also want to try this product, which we got at doggone natural in ashburn. http://www.petzlife.com/item/SalmonOilGel (i'll have to see if ours is the regular or the salmon, but both are on this site). it's really worked well for our 12 year old with regards to tarter. good luck!

Stopped by today during their open house. I had never been in there before. Very nice set up. Let you walk around the hospital. Pretty impressed, but I thought I heard they were one of the more expensive places in the area. Anyone know if they take PetAssure? Few places in this area actually take it.

We now take both our dog and our cat to doctor Newman. He is absolutly wonderful. We are extremely pleased with them.

We've also dealt with Chantilly animal hospital (dog), Old Mill (dog), Cascades (cat) and Ashburn Village (cat) and of the 5 Caring Hands has been not only the best but also the cheapest. Chantilly was the most expensive followed by old mill then ashburn village and Cascades. As far as the best care it's been Caring hands, Old Mill, Cascades, Chantilly, and then ashburn village. I would never go back to ashburn village after what happend to our cat there.

I rescued my first pet last March and I was quite unfamiliar with the process of picking the perfect vet. Living in Southern Walk, I just chose Caring Hands because of the location. Dr. B has been a blessing for our dog. Our puppy got hit by a car in Arlington over the summer and she was rushed to the Pet ER in Springfield. Dr. B. faxed over all of the information to the ER and even called the reception who is in love with our dog to pray because they were not sure how much damage was done and if she was going to make it. She had major surgery on her hip and when she got released my first stop was to see Dr. B (without an appointment). He came out to the car to check our dog out because our puppy could not walk for about 2-3 weeks. He was so nice and genuinely cared for our puppy. He assured us that she was going to be okay in the long-term but she will have to remain in the crate for 6-8 weeks with minimal activity after 4 weeks. I actually like Dr. B moreso than my family doctor. He is just wonderful and is willing to help however he can.

Our puppy was recently spayed at Ashburn Village (because they participate with the Loudoun County spaying program -- Caring Hands does not) and although I have no negative feelings toward that practice, I did not feel as comfortable with the vets there as I do at Caring Hands. The receptionists at Caring Hands associate my puppy with me when I call to make an appointment. There is no "please spell your name for me" with Caring Hands. I could go on forever about Caring Hands but I will spare you more reading... I would recommend anyone to Caring Hands...

Dr. B is awesome! The entire staff is so friendly, compassionate and professional. The name "caring hands" really does describe the practice quite well. We highly recommend them.
