    Oh, cut it out, you!

Holy grail is right up there too. Then there's 'My Life In A Hole: The Frederica Bimmel Story' which is a constant laugh riot.

    FRRRRRRRRRRRONKUS!

After reading all the praise for Catanuso's, my wife and I figured we would give it a try on our way home tonight.

    Some of my thoughts:

    + nice friendly atmosphere
+ simple and reasonably priced menu
    + Fresh ingredients
+ good sauce on the pizza

    - Panini was not 'toasted' enough for our liking and hence did not produce a hot/melted center of ingredients
    - Panini could have used some olive oil and coarse salt on the outside of the bread to give it a touch more taste
    - Pizza crust texture and taste was too generic for our liking

Compared to other places serving food similar to this I would rate it a 6 out of 10.

Overall it was a nice place, but we have high standards for pizza and panini's. Especially Panini's as we can make them at home and haven't found one place that can get close to our own.

For a break from the 'norm on pizza, give it a try, but I personally wouldn't get too excited about it. I'd recommend Emillio's near Belfort or the new Pizza place next to Five Guys on Waxpool if you want 'gourmet' pizza and aren't afraid to spend a few extra dollars. Otherwise, journey on down to 'The Italian Shop' off of the Spout Run exit of Rt. 66 and you will find the best Pizza outside of NY, PA and CT.

    take care,
    C-

Actually, it's "The Italian Store" but ciccone is right - the food is awesome! I haven't had their pizza but have had their subs several times and am always happy with what I get. Plus they sell Italian foods frozen, in cans, etc. Their frozen pastas are great, too.

No doubt ... but as I mentioned in my previous post, this HAS happened in the past, and probably will in the future.

You just seemed to follow the usual M.O.: New restauant, new member of the forums, only postings are the new thread about the new restaurant.

My neighbor bought mulch from Broad Run's Boosters and told me that their delivery of mulch yesterday came with menus and a coupon from Catanuso's--they are giving 10% of their total revenue from this weekend to help the Broad Run Boosters. We aren't in the Broad Run school zone, but I'm going to help them out with my order today. Just thought I'd let you all know in case you were interested. Enjoy the great weather we're having :)

    T8erman,
As promised, I'm not going to mention anything about Catanuso's Cafe in the Anothai thread :) so I'm responding to your reply in the appropriate one.

I'm glad you tried Catanuso's pizza and you liked it :) I always knew you were good people!! Have you tried their lasagna yet? Good eatin'!

    Take care :)

Ok folks! Here is the deal: I am a former employee of Catanuso's and I will give you all the information you need.

My boss Luciano Catanuso was a tough, but nice man when it came to being a friend/father figure, but when it came to being a boss, he needed more of the "american" sway. (I suffered alot for him with no gratefulness)Yes, he hails from the most amazing city of Roma, and his dedication and passion is unrivaled. What he did was bring the best food to an area which is not cultured in the ways that it should be. While I was there making this great food, alot of times I hit the mark and sometimes I failed, but I had love for what he did. For instance the pizza dough was made by a siciliano who didnt even speak english, and tomatoes from Italia! This is awesome! As far as others here who mention the Italian food from Philly (I live here now), New York, etc, let us not forget that this cuisine morphed into italian american more than anything. Yes, Luciano and I butted heads(he a taurus and me a leo), I agreed with his mission: educate those in the true taste of Italian food. I loved him for that. Today, I am studying my regional cuisine from Basilicata( http://www.aptbasilicata.it) ( and will open my own place here. As well, I am studying all 20 regional dialects. Why? Perche IO SONO L'ITALIANO!

Thanks alot guys and email at forzalucani@yahoo.com if any questions!

    Giovanni
