I hear great things about Chengs and I really love Chinese buffets. I see they have one on Sundays only.
    Is it any good?
    Price?
We usually go to Kings but I'm tired of it, and they also raised their prices. As a family of four we used to be able to go there for about $25 for lunch, now it is out of this world expensive; kids prices are based on height and I think the adult prices went up a couple of bucks. Only plus is the $1 sodas.
    Anyhoo... Thoughts on Chengs?

IMHO, nothing beats Cheng's! We can not find Chinese in Ashburn that we're happy with and so pick up from there whenever we're in the area. My husband grew up in Countryside and Cheng's has been there forever. I've been going there since 1997. My taste test whenever we try a new place is the hot & sour soup, Cheng's is fantastic. We usually do soup, pork fried rice and kung pao or chicken with cashews. Whenever I pick up, there are plenty of Asian families (I will assume Chinese) there, so they must agree it's good Chinese.

All that being said, we've never done the buffet but I'm sure it's good.

It's in the strip mall where the Regal movie theatres are along Rt. 7 in Sterling, right in front of Countryside. Cheng's is at the end of the section behind 7-11.

Chengs is fine, the all-American style Chinese that I was raised on. I prefer Yen's, which has a legit Hong Kong menu as well.

We cannot find better chinese than Chengs out this way -- but there is much better in DC (Chinatown).

There's a place called Golden King located at 7 and Drainesville that opened up last year. We go there for Dim Sum on Sundays and I actually like their Dim Sum better than others located in Arlington and closer to DC. You know it's a good sign when there are almost all Chinese people eating there.

For Ashburn, I love Yen's, too. Awesome customer service as well.

Chengs is packed every night for a reason. We've been going there for over 10 years and it's outstanding.
