Need Advice Closets

Planning on updating my closets....no not all at once and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on closet type places (i.e. closet factory, etc.) and if so were you happy with the experience as well as the product. The only reason I ask is that I know those places can get pretty pricey and The Container Store is having their Elfa sale (which I guess has been extended) and I have never really been crazy about wire shelving but I read reviews and people love them. I am thinking about doing my son's (age less than 5) closet with Elfa to start. So if anyone has any feedback with Elfa or any other place I would certainly appreciate it. Also if you could tell me if the closet you had done was a reach in vs a walk in and the approximate price range.

+1000 for Elfa. It is a great deal when on sale and very easy to install.

The Container store employees are also VERY knowledgeable about configurations and such.

 

However you can save a lot of money by buying the basic parts (horizontal bar and the vertical bars as well as the simple shelves from Lowes and Home Despot. You can then spend your money on just the specialty shelves from Elfa.

Save large $$$

The Rubbermaid stuff is similar to Elfa (everything hangs from a vertical support attached near the ceiling), but not as beefy -- but still works fine.
