Need Advice Comcast outages - anyone else?

    Yesterday and today intermittent.

    Has anyone else had issues or is it time to end this and switch to Verizon like everyone else around us?

    Might be time to switch to Verizon. I honestly can't remember the last time we had an outage.

    Verizon has shortcomings - but is light years ahead of Comcast

    We've had Comcast internet for years and have very rarely had a problem. didn't have one in the last few days, either.

    Thanks all for the comments. I lost about three hours of my life with Comcast (not including the time to buy a new modem - they said the old one was bad...). They could not even get the new modem to work, until we ended the call and then it magically worked but was intermittent for a few days. Have not had any problems the last few days.

    The icing on the cake was making me listen to pay-per-view ads before putting me through to tech support each time.

    Scheduled a FIOS install, so we'll try that for a bit.

    FiOS has been rock solid for three years. Dump Comcast like the rock they are.

    Verizon has been fine after I got it set up.

    Still trying to get my money back from Comcast. Last time I called they said a few weeks. I called again and now they said I needed to return equipment - there was nothing to return as I used my own router. So another 4-6 weeks.

    We also got a letter from them today saying we would need a new router or things would no longer work...so the switch ended up being good timing.

    Also looked online at the account, which said that internet and phone were fine. I'm not sure what that means (given that we stopped service with them and disconnected the modem)...
