As tonight's HH is "All over but the shouting" I'd like to look ahead to the December Event. This wil be interesting as it's being held at a private residence - namely mine :screwy: This means that, if you can find the place :p, you'll know which hosue to egg.

As host I will take care of the liquid stuff :partydrink:, but we need to come up with a way to take care of the eats. At our disposal are a microwave oven, a microwave/convection oven, a regular convection oven & a regular oven. So, I am open to facilitating ideas {nom, nom, nom} .

As for the actual date I am thinking a Friday or Saturday night this go'round as it will give me time to clean up after you loons :sickhurl: and not leave it all to Brassey. Specifically December 14/15 seems the best to me.

Lastly - as this is the December HH do we want to officially dub it the "HOA Forums Holiday Happening"?

As far as the food thing one way is to make everyone donate a little bit.

Or set up a proposed menu of items we all would like to see and have an on line list of people checking off that list of things they want to bring.

These were a huge hit at my New Year's Eve Party... I'll bring them:

CROSTINI WITH MUSHROOMS, PROSCIUTTO, AND BLUE CHEESE
    Recipe By :
    Serving Size : 18 Preparation Time :0:00
    Categories :
Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    3 tablespoons butter
1/2 pound shiitake mushrooms -- stemmed, caps chopped
    4 ounces mushroom -- crimini
    2 garlic cloves -- minced
    1/2 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup blue cheese -- crumbled - about 2 oz.
1/2 cup prosciutto -- thinly sliced and chopped - about 2.5 oz
18 sourdough French bread slices -- 1/2" thick cut from baguette
    Chopped fresh parsley

Melt butter in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add all mushrooms and garlic and sauté until mushrooms are cooked through and brown, about 10 minutes. Add cream and boil until liquid is completely absorbed, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add blue cheese and stir until cheese melts. Mix in prosciutto. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Transfer mushroom topping to bowl. (Mushroom topping can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)
Preheat oven to 375°F. Arrange bread slices on baking sheet. Bake until just golden, about 5 minutes. Mound 1 generous tablespoon mushroom topping on each slice. Return to oven; bake until topping is heated through, about 6 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Don't worry - I have all the glassware we need. So, let me drop a few ground rules as this is going to be very different from what we have done before:

    - If there is more than a 75% chance that you are going to attned, please PM me. I have to give Entree Vous a rough tummy count and I need to give you an address.

    - After a lot of thought I have to declare this an "Adults Only" Party. Wait, that leaves out T8. OK, "No Children." That sounds harsh - anyway - you get the drift. Hire a sitter and get over here.

    - The bar will be stocked "well" bit not "completly." So, if you insist on having a Slippery Navel Flying a B-52 over The Beach, well, bring your own shizz. You are welcomed and invited to BYOWhatever. I will try to have a nice selection of standard beers, spirits, softdrinks & wines. But, variety IS the spice of life.

    - I will have the dart board & air hockey set up. If you have your own darts, pack'em along. If you do not, fret not, I have a nice selection.

    So see you all there!!!!!

i was avoiding this thread since i can't- REALLY can't attend. but the food alone may be worth risking an infection in my ankle and/or knee... but to see t8 do his best air guitar perched precariously on Kaos' bar---- i may need to get a special permission slip from my doc for this one!!! :)

I guess this means that I have to look for T8erman's darts. Did he tell you he was in a dart league? Yes-a dart league. There is not much else to say.

You say that like it's a bad thing. I haunted the Jolly Archer in Arlington for a couple of seasons. Darts & Beer - is there any better?

Limo you say KaosDad???? How about one of those extremely large Hummers with an outdoor hot tub in the back. This way we can take this HH on the road and visit all the ones that are a no show and chase down those lurkers.

Just tell me how many at the HH so I can get an big enough limo.:clap:
