Dentist, Pediatrician, hospital & Pharmacy

Anyone recommend a children's peditrician or children's dentist in this area?

Anyone use Reston Hosp or Loudoun Hospital - we are looking for where to go in an emergency.

Also 24 hour pharmacy in the area?

 

We use a great pediatrician that is located over by the Ashburn Giant near dairy Queen. They are both great with kids...Their names are Lisa Williams and Christine Wilson. They are somewhat new to the area and are taking new patients. The phone number is: (703) 723-5500. I know a few families that have swutched over to them because the other peds offices are too crowded.

 

I believe a "children's" dentist office is in the Ashburn Farm Giant center. There is also a great dentist organization in the office building at the northwest corner of Claiborne Parkway and Ashburn Farm Parkway (I forget the name). We couldn't stay with them because they didn't accept Blue Cross.
We go to Dr. Ray in the Food Lion plaza and have been happy with their service.

My daughter's doctor is Emily Pagan. There are multiple doctors in the same office. The office is 20955 Professional Plaza, Suite 200 and phone number is 703-729-7652.

We us Ashburn Pediatrics - address & # mentioned in the above post. We've seen most of the doctors in the practice and have been pleased with them all. There is also a pediatric dentist in the same building - not sure of the # though.

For emergencies, we've used Loudoun hospital and haven't had a problem.

We also use the pediatrician Concerned_Mom uses and like them a lot. Plus, I just took my 3-year-old for her first dental checkup about a month ago and HIGHLY recommend them. It's the Dental Arts Center (703-723-0014) on the first floor of the same building (Professional Plaza at Claiborne and Ashburn Farm Pkwy). The pediatric dentist is Dr. Reardon and she and her hygienist were great. My daughter can't wait to go back.

Unfortunately, the only 24-hour pharmacies I know of are far out. We have used the Rite Aid in Fairfax at Rte 50 and Rte 123 (703-273-4515).

We use the Dental Arts Center in Ashburn and they are great with the kids there. My daughter went for the first time when she was 3 and they were very patient with her. She can't wait to go back for her next visit.

I've used Ashburn Children's Dentistry for my 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter. At the time of their first visit, my son was 23 months and my daughter was 3 1/2 years old and they both did wonderfully. Their office is located between Kirpatrics and Domanis Restaurants at the Ashburn Village Shopping Plaza. Office # is 703-723-8440 and the dentist name is Dr. Lynda Dean-Duru. The office is taylored for children and the staff are very friendly and patient. This office was recommended from our old dentist in NJ.

I delivered my son at LCH. I had a wonderful experience at that hospital. The staff was great. However, if you have an emergency that is late at night, unless they've change, you will be stuck in the ER for a long time. Last time I had to take my daughter to the emergency room was back in Jan. 2002. I arrived about 7:30 pm and did not leave till 1:00 am. ER has very minimum staff at night.

My current pediatrician is Farrell Pediatrics in Reston. It's a great office but they do not have priviledges at LCH. I'm thinking of changing pediatrician to stay local. I work in Reston but my children's daycare is in Ashburn; therefore, I'm looking to transfer to Ashburn Pediatrics, Professional Plaza. I heard great things about the place and some doctors are still taking new patients.

As far as 24 hours open pharmacy, very limited. The closest to Ashburn that I know is Eckerds pharmacy in Sterling. The pharmacy also has a drive-thru.

Oh! if you need a family dentist, I go to see Dr. Michael Han. He's located Ashburn Professional Plaza. I use to go to Dr. Ronald Ray but he has very strict cancellation policy and inflexible hours. Dr. Han is open on Saturdays and some evenings, which is great for full-time working parents.

Actually, Eckerds is open Mon-Fri 7am - 11:59pm Sat-Sun 9am-9pm. Still gives you more hours than the local CVS, but not officially 24 hours.

Pasternak - our number one choice has a 70 person waitlist and is not taking anymore kids. She referred us to another pediatrician who is also full. I want a good doctor and need to switch. Ours left us in a huge lurch with this flu vaccine. They gave my child her shot last month and then this month (little ones get two shots) said oh sorry no shots left. Had they given us a little notice we might have been able to do something about it.

I have written Pasternak a letter begging her to put us on her waitlist but I doubt that will be very effective. Anyone have some other names?????

 

We paid our first (ER) visit to Loudoun Hospital about 3 weeks ago for my husband (we do not have any young children at home). It was a Sunday afternoon. The care and attention was first rate but although the ER was not busy, we were there for almost 3 hours. However I'm pleased to note that when the hospital staff learned we were new to the area (from overseas) and did not have any local doctors they provided us with a list of doctors who were both affiliated with Loudoun Hospital and accepting new patients. I'm sure that one could probably call the hospital and get a list of referred Dr's.

I concur with others, Ashburn Peds has been wonderful!

 

We use Ashburn Pediatrics by the Dairy Queen also. We have been very pleased. Daughter loves Dr. Lisa. We also go to Ashburn Childrens Dentistry and have been very pleased with their practice and Dr. Lynda Dean-Duru. Not to mention, its very convienent.[8)]

 

I was told Ashburn Pediatrics is no longer accepting any new patients. So apprecite the recommendation but this will be strike two for us

Don't forget that there is both an Ashburn Pediatrics and an Ashburn Village Pediatrics. Obviously the one most of you were talking about was Ashburn Village Pediatrics....
