There will also be a Harris Teeter in Stone Ridge. I loved shopping at Harris Teeter when I still lived in Arlington. I'm very happy that I'll be able to walk to the one in Brambleton. HT is a step above the local chains but Wegman's is still the best. I preferred it over the local Safeway and Giant.

A Bank of America is supposedly going in the same shopping plaza as the Harris Teeter in Ashburn Village.

If Harris Teeter wants to compete, they're going to have to lower their prices expectations. My impression was they are expensive.

There's also a Bank of America in Ashburn Farm - on the corner of Claiborne and Ashburn Farm Parkway - across from the Ashburn Farm shopping center with the Giant supermarket. Ashbrooke, where the new Teeters is going is at the end of Ashburn Village Parkway going toward Rt 7 - almost to the end on the right.

Um .. the only bank there is a Middleburg ... the closest Bank of America ATM is in the shopping center by the Taco Bell. The closest BofA branch right now is probably the one in Dulles Town Center by Lowes.

You're right! For some reason I thought that was a BOA. I don't bank with them, but I knew I saw them somewhere in the area.....[:I]

It may have already been said, but has anyone figured out what is going on that plot of land? I noticed today that they are moving some dirt around. I am thinking maybe a gas station?

There is also a Harris Teeter planned for the area of the intersection of Ryan Road and Loudoun County Parkway (in the new Moorefield Green development). I met with the county planner last week who confirmed this. So there will be this one, the one in Brambleton, and Ashbrook coming soon. Looks like there will be plenty of choices!

Its not going to be in Moorefield Station, its in the Broadlands commerical area where there is currently a pile of dirt, just off Wynridge.

OK .. which plot of land are you talking about. There are at least 3 different ones that have been addressed already.

If you're talking about the one next to the Home Depot, see earlier in this thread.

This is in response to Neil's post about Moorefield Station. Hope this clears up some confusion!

In my meeting last week (actually on Wednesday March 16) with Scott Berger, planner for Loudoun County, he showed me the blueprints for the plans for the initial phases of Moorefield Green (the first portion of Moorefield Station to be developed). The land that is directly west of where Ryan Road intersects Loudoun County Parkway is zoned for a supermarket. (The final plan for Ryan Road is to have it relocated so it intersects Loudoun County Parkway further west than where it does now, so eventually, that supermarket would be east of the "future" Ryan Road/LC Parkway intersection -- but nevertheless, there will definitely be a supermarket there). He stated that it will "most likely" be a Harris Teeter, even though there will already be one in Brambleton.

All these plans have been approved, and construction by Toll Brothers of Moorefield Green will begin in about a year. The area of the supermarket (along with a day-care center) will be developed at that time as well. He didn't mention any Broadlands projects since he was not directly involved with them. And since I am not a Broadlands resident, that was not my focus at the time. However, as a resident of one of the many neighborhoods bordering Broadlands, it seems that the future is to be that we will all be merging, especially through these commercial developments sprouting up all around us.

Well, the plot of land right at Exit 6, coming from the Broadlands side (Wynridge)? If you are getting ready to head into Washington, it is right there off of the Exit ramp to the Greenway. It isn't that large of a plot, but it seems like it would be commerical. Also, I thought that Harris Teeter was being built right off of Wynridge- behind the new Van Metre TH?

    Kat-

If I'm not mistaken, the area you're talking about will the the Public Safety site dedicated by Moorefield Station. It's 4 acres, and sits right next to where Moorefield Station will be in the future.

The entire area off Wynridge is part of Broadlands, that is a commerical parcel that is being developed by Van Metre. At the past two homeowner/developer updates, this area has been briefed, and a map displayed.

This is the location of the Harris Teeter planned for this area, and it is in the Broadlands, and will be designated as such, as there will be a new entry display setup by Van Metre for that area.

Thanks Neil, but that's not the area mdr227 originally was talking about in the initial post. The SE corner of Ryan and the Greenway is a very small lot, not the area where the Harris Teeter is going.

To define the lot better (or make it more confusing), it's the inside of the "L" of Ryan Road where it currently turns East heading towards Lo Cty Pkwy.

Now I understand the exact location. The Ryan Rd/Greenway interchange covers a wide area.

Using your more precise location, allows me to pinpoint exactly what you're talking about. I'm assuming its the lot between the current Ryan Road, and the future Ryan Road (which is the straight piece of road that intersects with Wynridge.

FWIW .. that 'L' piece of Ryan road is going to be obliterated if this map is correct: http://www.moorefieldstation.com/images/maps/view_CMCF_zoning.jpg

Part of that 'L' is Vantage Point subdivison built by Richmond American, evidently its either built out, or is totally sold, as there is no data on the Richmond American website for it.

On the land closest to the interchange, that will be landscaped and kept open.
