    Looking for some help.

We have many of those somewhat annoying ball latch set-ups on our closet and room doors. Many of the balls have popped off and do not appear to be able to be pressed back down so they stay in place.

Does anyone have any tips on repairing these ball latches, or getting replacement parts for these doors?

I have been to Home Depot, but they appear to have different replacement hardware that does not match what is currently in the doors.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks

All I know is ours need to be screwed back down almost weekly. The doors get hard to close/open & then I know it's time to screw it back down. What a pain they are!

Don't forget the WD-40. Works like a charm to help them close easier.

I realize this doesn't really help, TD11, but maybe it'll help JenTimC.

You can purchase replacements at Home Depot. Ours kept popping out also. They aren't exact matches, but the concept is still the same. Unscrew the entire housing off the top of the door and screw the new one in. We did it a few months ago. Only took a few minutes.

Use Endust furniture polish--not Pledge, not something else, Endust. Spray it on a paper towel or rag (so as not to get the surrounding area dirty) and rub the ball and strike plate. The salesman for 'Lil Giant ladders at one of the home shows passed along this tip and it works great. He's the one that said use only Endust, nothing else, so the ladder rails slide easier. It also works great on the door balls and strip plates.
