Yeah, Bill Clinton, that's what we need. A president who lies to a judge under oath and gets hummers under his desk while talking to foreign leaders........but Hey!!! as long as unemployment is low.....

I measure good leaders by results. Who cares if Bill had a little indiscretion (by puritancial standards) in his personal life? That is an issue for him and his family. If you want to talk about lying leaders, let's talk about the icon of the right wing: self-admitted druggie Rush Limbaugh.

Puritanical standards? How would your wife feel about you getting a hummer from someone else? Would she be the good little "party" wife? I really doubt it!

    1. Dead U.S. soldiers being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu while US forces were denied US Abrams tanks.

    2. Offering North Korea over a billion dollars to build up their nuclear weapons program.

    3. Sitting back doing nothing while Russia, China and India helped Iran develop chemical, biological and nuclear weapons.

    4. Allowing China to steal our advanced military technology as they illegally contributed to the Clinton/Gore 1996 re-election campaign

    5. Letting Saddam Hussein thumb his nose at the US and Un and then subjugating US foreign policy to the UN

    6. Reducing the military so that two Army divisions were declared unfit for combat (for lack of fuel and ammunition for training) and aircraft carriers are sent to sea undermanned and aircraft sit in storage for a lack of replacement parts

    7. Getting the US involved in "peacekeeping" in Kosovo while not supporting them

    8. Stooges running the CIA and FBI who aren't interesting in gathering intelligence but in making sure there are enough women and minorities in key positions

    9. Don't ask don't tell in the military

    10. Refusing to strike against Osama Bin Laden

    I can keep going.

    I dont know about this.

    2. Offering North Korea over a billion dollars to build up their nuclear weapons program.

I thought the payments were to stop the weapons program, build much needed civilian energy programs and to supply oil. North Korea are up the creek and maybe Clinton thought its better to have a poor friend rather thasn a desperate enemy.

    3. Sitting back doing nothing while Russia, China and India helped Iran develop chemical, biological and nuclear weapons.

The US supplied weapons to Iran and Iraq during the 80's, the UN cleared them from Iraq in the 90's.

    4. Allowing China to steal our advanced military technology as they illegally contributed to the Clinton/Gore 1996 re-election campaign

China had the capacity to build its own nuclear deterrent before that. How advanced do you have to be in military terms?

    5. Letting Saddam Hussein thumb his nose at the US and Un and then subjugating US foreign policy to the UN

Iraq was reduced to starvation and disease, over 500,000 Iraqui children were estimated to have died as a result of the sanctions. The US did not act, then, and on past performance we would not expect them to. Dying children were not enough to provoke Clinton to act, are you saying Bush would do any different?

    6. Reducing the military so that two Army divisions were declared unfit for combat (for lack of fuel and ammunition for training) and aircraft carriers are sent to sea undermanned and aircraft sit in storage for a lack of replacement parts

The Cold waar ended, at that time there was talk about the "Peace Dividend".

    7. Getting the US involved in "peacekeeping" in Kosovo while not supporting them

There were strategic interests in Kosovo which were achieved and you got out. You can't support US troops abroad indefinitely as we found in Vietnam and will find in the Middle East.

    8. Stooges running the CIA and FBI who aren't interesting in gathering intelligence but in making sure there are enough women and minorities in key positions

Stooges who dont speak or understand Arabic and who can't communicate with minorities are useless as intelligence officers. More minorrities in senior intelligence positions is an absolute necessity for homeland security.

    9. Don't ask don't tell in the military

Well, there's no answer to that, i dont understand what you are on about and if I did and there was I'd not tell you anyway, Ya know, "Don't ask don't tell "

    10. Refusing to strike against Osama Bin Laden

Osma Bin Laden was a friend of the Family; Bush's father dealt with his father and OBL was a friend to us when the Russians were in Afghanistan.

    I can keep going.

    I can't. Goodnight.

smythla: In the holiday spirit, my only commentary is that you must be Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh because I sincerely hope that Karl Rove is too busy to visit Broadlands Forums. Really though, ranting like these are what makes Republicans seem fanatical.

This forum starts off as an Air/Space Museum topic and now we're discussing hummers and politics. Take it over to the politics/beliefs board please.

Is there any type of discount for those who have the A&S license plate? And why didn't we get an sneak preview invitation since we contributed each year we renewed our plates? just curious.

I got a kick out of reading that politics discussion. As a gov. contractor I enjoy hearing the Dems and Repubs going at it at lunch. You guys should all meet up at Starbucks for a debate. :)
