There is a restaurant pad park? in Reston across from the Target. It has a Chick-fil-a, a Potbelly (great, cheap sandwiches and live lunch music) AND a Chipotle. Add a Panda East, put them next to the Home Depot and I'd be in quick meal heaven. One location, a choice of freshly prepared Mexican, Chinese, Deli, and Southern chicken. Only problem, lines would be long near dinner.

I believe there are plans for a Chipotle in the new shopping center by the Ashburn Home Depot.

There's also a Damon's planned for that same shopping center as well as an Appleby's.

There's a California Tortilla planned for the Brambleton Town Center (opening Spring 2006).

FYI - Chicken Burrito (with black beans, rice, cheese, and salsa) weighs in at nearly 1,000 calories and 12 grams of saturated fat.

Chipotle's Vegetarian Burrito (with black beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, and salsa) weighs over a pound and provides 1,120 calories and three-quarters of a day's worth of saturated fat (14 grams).

Chipotle's Barbacoa Burrito (with shredded beef, pinto beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa) hits nearly 1,300 calories and three-quarters of a day's worth of saturated fat. That's the equivalent of a Quarter Pounder, a large order of fries, and a large Coke.

Chipotle's Chicken Burrito Bols--burritos without the 340-calorie flour tortillas--are CSPI's only recommended "Better Bites" at Chipotle. A Bol with chicken, black beans, lettuce, and salsa, has just 430 calories and four grams of saturated fat. Rice instead of lettuce adds about 200 calories.

Personally, I would like to have a Baja Fresh.

    Ah, calories, shmalories.

Whenever I get Chipotle for lunch, I have a relatively light dinner because I'm not that hungry six or seven hours later. So, the whole calorie issue is a non-issue for me.

FYI - In case it's not on this thread already - There's a Tiajuana something or other (Burritos) opening August 1 in the Ashbrook center (Where Harris Teeter is off Ashburn Village & Rt 7).

We tried Tijuana Flats last night and it was just ok. I got a chimichanga and there were only 3 bites of chicken in it. It looked deflated and was disappointing. My husband said his meal was good but he likes just about anything!

As soon as the Wendy's is built we will have a better time frame on the opening date. I am almost positive they will have a Grand Opening of some sort if approved by the County and the Landlord. I will keep you up to date with the opening as soon as I have more information.

    Thank you-

Anyone know what the hold up is with the Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins? It seems like they graded their pad, then moved everything out of there. Are they waiting on building permits?

Haven't heard anything .. however, its a good possibility that the building permits have not yet been granted.

Loudoun County once again closed for business. No more donuts, ice cream, or stop lights. Only nail salons, Asian restaurants, or $100 million high schools- no permit necessary.

I guess you went there on a bad night. We went there about a week ago and had great burritos. My son is anxious to go back again. The hot sauce bar is also very interesting.

I do believe you're incorrect on that school's not needing permits. They have to go through the process as does any other building.

Please note .. another reason could be that they have the permits, but they don't want to start building until they have a tenant for the other half of the building.

For example, Wendy's had their grading and building permits well before they actually started doing anything with the ground. It could be a funding issue, or construction crew scheduling.

In any case, its all speculation until we hear directly from the developer of the property.

There will be a community update in November, and we hope to have at least one representative from each commercial development available.
