English Premier League..coming to America???

Just read an interesting story about the English Prem. league playing a round of games in the US. I, for one, would love to see this happen but I don't have my hopes up too high. Apparently there are way too many hurdles to overcome (FIFA). But think how great it would be if we could actually see a Chelsea game or a Man U or West Ham game here in the states. I wonder if these teams would bring their hooligans over with them?

The Real Football factories right here in America, imagine it!!! In the scariest parts of Miami, San Diego, Los Angeles, Denver and where ever else they are considering games a crowd of 5 people gather to have a real "mass off" with the other 5 people that show up. Somehow it loses something. I think for real football hooligan action I'll stick with the terraces at Millwall. But I would still love to see a Prem. game here in the states!!! I wonder if DC is on the short list of possible venues????

 

I think the DC united crowd can draw big enough to get a game here. If we had a good stadium that would help, but the fans are here.

 

Oh well, it was nice to dream for a few days that a Prem game could actually be played here in the states....But alas, it's all for not. FIFA has nixed the whole idea. Read on:
