The repair job Roofer911 did for my house in Ashburn is still holding up. No leak after that horrific amount of rain. I am very pleased with the result.

Unfortunately for me, another roof leaked on a house that I bought recently in Fairfax. I only noticed because the ceiling on the top floor started to show a water stain. I guess 9 inches of rain in one day will do that. I hated having that sick feeling, especially right after buying a house and moving in.

I called Roofer911 the next morning and his voice mail box was completely full. I sent him an e-mail thinking that I probably wouldn't hear back from him for a while, but to my happy surprise I got a phone call right back! He was at my house a couple of hours later, scanned my whole house, identified the problem and sent his crew out later that day.

I also found his crew to be made up of good guys. They were polite and explained everything to me clearly. Instead of simply following the work order, two of the crew actually went back into my attic to make absolutely sure where the leak was, how much moistured had entered (they lifted up all that insulation to check) and did a very thorough job of checking things out and repairing.

I am very satisfied with Roofer911's work and can recommend it heartily. I've dealt with a lot of shoddy operators in NoVA and spent a lot of money and time to find good contractors based on trial and error (and some research on BBB, Consumers Checkbook, fora like this) -- Roofer911 is definitely on my list of go-to guys.

Any recent experiences with Roofer911? I am looking for someone to clean out my gutters.

This is freakin' unbelievable. The ceiling above the bay window/bumpout of my house in Ashburn leaked again (this was repaired twice before by Kirk at Apex).

    I must be cursed.

I am going to have to call Roofer911 for this as well (his repair on another window in the same house is still going strong even through all the rain and storms of late as well as the roof fix at my other house in Fairfax).

Just got an estimate from Gutterman. Single family house with gutters on two sides, front and back. $225! Sounds outrageous to me for just cleaning and flushing them out. Any other options?

Academy (the people who do the driveway sealing) does gutters too.

I tried Northern Virginia Gutter Cleaning in Sterling last year. Cheaper than others and did the basics. I will be using them again this year. novagutters.com I think.

Still waiting for my issue (window leak) which I contacted Roofer 911 in July for to be fixed. It's almost 4 months now since Steve was first engaged. Very responsive in the beginning and has tried to fix the problem a few times, but overtime stopped taking phone calls and now has not even showed up once in the last month or so to attempt a fix. Multiple calls are made to him in a week.

I only hope that he can close out the issue before I turn over to another contractor.

    Hi Ash,

Please understand, Virginia was in a state of emergency during which time we received 14” of rain so we were unable to speak with each and every customer but we try our very best. As I explained to you yesterday, Roofer911 is an Internet run business and during the storms our database server had the misfortune of developing a problem which permanently wiped-out well over 1000 of our customers with roofing issues. This was our fault by not doing daily back-ups which we have learned from so not to happen again in the future. Again, I am so sorry we were unable to get back to you much sooner, rest assured this will never happen again!

Steven from Roofer911 came out and assessed the issue. Apparently the window housing above the bumpout ceiling has hairline fractures. Steve actually came out to my house on a Saturday and caulked the hairline fractures without any charge :)2thumbs:). He told me it was a simple job and that he didn't want to charge me. I asked him to come out anyway as I am very unhandy and he did it for me for free.

He did however explain to me that these particular windows have a very bad, leak-prone design and the only two ways to make sure they would not leak would be to either replace them with better designed ones or install glass panes (instead of insect screens).

So far, the windows have not leaked down to the bumpout ceiling through the latest rounds of the heavy rains. I hope the caulking cured the problem. I did notice that the windows in my newly-purchased home are very different in design and they are also caulked along the seems inside the casing unlike the windows in the Ashburn home.

In any case, many kudos to Steven for his excellent customer service, personally coming out to do a caulking job for free to a loyal customer. Thank you!

Just used Roofer911. Steve came out to the house and went through the problems he noticed and described each problem and solution in terms which someone with no roof knowledge could understand. After about 20 minutes to generate a quote/contract, I signed off and his crew arrived the same day to make all of the repairs. I never have had repair work happen so quickly with other contractors. I was very pleased to have all of the issues taken care in such a quick and efficient manner.

I would definitely use Roofer911 in the future.

Thought I'd pass on the good word about NV Gutter. Kevin showed up on time, did what was promised, and charged what was quoted.

They cleaned my single family house gutters for $120. Even cleaned up the mess. Included washing out the gutters.

Sure beats the $225 I was quoted by Gutterman.

NV Gutter can be reached at www.novagutters.com I schedule the entire service via email.

DO NOT EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, HIRE ROOFER 911 to work on your home. While their work may be adequate, they WILL rip you off. The owner is nothing but a salesman who will use fancy technology and scare tacticts to bully you into getting more work done than you need or ask for. Also, if he does sell you on agreeing to the work you will be charged over 10 times what it is worth. You will walk away thinking wow, he was nice and seemed to do a good job. However, if you ask yourself 2 questions: 1. What did I call him for and what additional work did he sell me on doinng? In fact, did he even offer me a price to just fix what I called for and another price for the rest of the stuff he convinced me I needed by playing on my fear, lack of knowledge, and my anxiety. If he would have given me 2 options, then I could have made a choice. 2. Take the estimate he sold you on signing and research it ... show it to friends, other roofers, or research it online. You will see exactly how much money he stole from you.
Once you answer these questions you will see what a greedy, dishonest, salesperson you are dealing with. Also, try questioning him about any of these things. You will see that he will become very agitated, actually insult you, and walk away rather than discussing. There are honest roofing and siding companies out there ... take the time to find one. Don't just fall for the best sales pitch!!

I'm having a hard time getting anyone to come out and give me an estimate for roof work. Roofer911 was available and quoted a price that was high enough that I need to get a few more estimates. Everyone listed as being good via Washington Checkbook and those recommended by friends are all unable to give estimates until the end of December.

I used Roofer911 for a job in the past and it was smaller than I expected and cost less than I expected.

Is the infrared camera Roofer911 (aka Steve) uses legit?

What's with the one-shot accounts bashing roofers? It seems an odd thing to get worked up about. Get an estimate, shop around, make a decision. The guy's not going to walk off with your roof when you turn around.

Greg, you speak with authority on the matter but you didn't state how you came to this conclusion. :conf3:

Agree, one should get estimates but if you have never hired a roofer, and have an emergency, you're going to hire someone based on a recommendation or contract with the first company that responds. I presume this is what previous posters have done.

Roofer911 is definitely NOT the lowest contractor I found. BUT so far I have been very satisfied with his crew's work and he has stood behind the work. He has always responded to calls or e-mails from me promptly. Also, I really like his foreman -- he actually checked out my problem himself as well (double check) before he started the work instead of just going by what's on the paper.

Both Steven and his foreman have dissuaded me from having more work done. If they were dishonest crooks, why would they do that?

Nobody likes to pay more (than the average) and I certainly don't, but I'll pay over the average if I can get the service on time, promptly and with good after-work service.

Lastly, I really liked his use of the IR camera, so I actually insisted on my home inspector using one as well when I bought a new house this summer. From what I understand IR cameras are "legit" and are increasingly becoming the norm in home inspection and repair trade.

I can only speak on the one experience I had with Roofer911 but I would not hesitate to call them again. While he did offer more work than I had originally called him about but he did give me two quotes. One was the amount to do the work I asked for and the second was for the recommended work. The extra work was to re-pitch one of the gutters that was holding water on the far side from the downspout. His assessment was clear from the infrared camera. I felt his price was reasonable so I had his guys do both. While it may not have been the lowest price I felt it was not anywhere near gouging and given Steve's surprisingly fast response to my initial call, visit for a quote, and actual work I was a pleased customer. I do understand after I storm he may not be as fast to reply and from what I gather he does prioritize true emergencies over other work.

I just scheduled my cleaning with them. This will be the second time I used them. They seem to be way cheaper than everyone else. And they do the job well.
