Well it did it's job right :) An ad is suppose to catch your attention and people are talking about it!
Had to step up - deadline was too tight and they did not get a chance to proof it or I know Raymondo would have caught it so did not want it to reflect on him.

My meal at Forno was terrible. I couldn't even finish it. The chicken picata was covered in gravy and the pasta sauce tasted like Ragu. My husband didn't like his dish either. I won't ever go back.

Humm, first post by sugarc and it's an attack? That's a little suspicious. I don't believe it and really I am curious about the motive.

given all of the feedback here, the location, and the rep of the head chef, I am confident that folks here will HAVE to visit and judge for themselves. Sun - Thur there are different nightly specials, so pick the night that suits you and see for yourself. every dish won't please every body!

I have been to Forno twice and the service was good and food was very tasty. So nice to have a really good Italian restaurant in the neighborhood.

Had another delicious lunch there today. Great food, cheerful attentive service. This place is a nice jewel in our neighborhood.

Really? We went on Sunday night and the best I could say is it was "okay". T8erman's dinner was good--I think mushroom ravioli? I ordered the veggie lasagne and if I hadn't asked for marinara sauce it would have been absolutely tasteless. Nice and cheesy, though. But worst of all is the kids pizza. Its "make your own" and its absolutely horrible as compared to the Rainbow pizza that San Vito used to serve. Really, the Rainbow was a 10 and this is barely a 2. There were around 8 tiny blocks of cheese to put on it. Most of the pizza was just sauce. Make your own is fine, but jeez, give the kids enough stuff to put on it. T8ertot ate one piece and then we had to take him to Wendy's for chicken afterward. Service was middling at best. One server, one hostess, and one manager working the floor. 4 or 5 tables only. Server had to ask us to confirm our order as she was bringing it out--like she could have gotten it mixed up with the 100s of other patrons? And waiting for the check took forever. I'd not notice or forgive those last two things if the place was busy. But it was basically deserted.

Two of you above I know and really trust. So, we'll give it another try. I'd like to agree with you and have a nice Italian place nearby. Maybe it was just an off nite.

I had a creamy spaghetti with bacon pasta dish yesterday. I can't remember the name, but it was two words. The person I ate with also had it and loved it.

Went to Forno last night to try the Valentine's Day menu- I hope the keep the sausage potato cake appetizer on the menu- it was garnished with crisp, flash fried basil leaves and was simply spectacular. the Risotto with Porcini Mushroom and truffles was to die for- creamy, flavorful- so different than anything I've ever tasted. The Man had chicken picatta which was also amazingly good- tender and moist, and the picatta sauce was mouth-wateringly savory. Finishing off with a cannoli- I'm not a huge fan (so I had an after dinner digetivo- Amaro) but the man is- he said is was the best cannoli he's had yet in VA. I tasted the cream- sweet, smooth, infused with chocolate chips... wow. alongside a cappucino with the thick foamy head- that was a happy Italian man! :)

Matt was our waitier and he provided superb service- ASK FOR HIM.

KIDS EAT FREE MONDAYS so today's a great opportunity to check them out for lunch or dinner!

I went there for lunch recently after all these reviews. It was GREAT! My son spilled his milk and they didn't miss a beat cleaning it up and settling us at a new table. Some restaurants would be all flustered but they were great. I had the Vegetarian Lasagna and it was amazing. I only ate 1/2 b/c it was a large portion and very filling but there was no question I was bringing the rest home. There weren't many people there for a weekday lunch so think of trying it out to keep it open. :)

We went there tonight for the first time after I read the last several posts here and was inspired to go. The service was good and the food was good. We had the spaghetti carbonera, the risotto with salmon, and the kids' make your own pizza. All were good and all portions were enough to bring home leftovers. Even the kids' pizza looked appetizing enough for adults. It's nice that they don't offer just the basic manicotti, ziti, etc. but have some different items as well. It separates them from say, Macaroni Grill and some other chains, which I haven't been impressed with lately. We will return another time!
