This fox has been really active the last few weeks. :)

Captured using a Honeywell HCCM474M camera (Sony exview sensor, color 0.4 lux sensitive 50IRE/f1.2) with a f1.0 lens (lower f number lens helps the sensitivity slightly). These cameras can be found (used) on ebay for $20-30.

Other camera notes: This camera is not a "true" day night in that it does not have a mechanical IR cut filter. Did not use an enclosure for the camera, merely wrapped in plastic. Operating temp range fine for VA (-10C to 50C). Lighting is from a 23W fluorescent flood, as it turns out just enough light to keep the camera in color. Camera digitized by Axis 241S video server, event captured by Vitamin D software.

Omgosh, it looks like a baby? Have you seen the mother or siblings?

I've only ever seen one at a time.

Dec 30 pic was I think a Nuvico NVCC-41NA2 (Sony Super Had Sensor 0.1 lux) with a f1.8 zoom lens. FYI analog cams at night are all 1/60s exposure.

Other Dec pic is an Axis P1344 1/30s exposure, f1.6 lens. These are all just screenshots of the captured video.

If anyone has an interest I could try to post the video to youtube.

I usually walk Rocky at 5:00am, and we saw this guy Tuesday morning. He spends a lot of time in the wooded common areas around Autumnwood Square hunting mice and baby bunnies.

I saw a big fox over by Tillett's on Old Waxpool today. He crossed the road in front of me at about 8:30am. He ran right over to a goose, who was non-plused by his presence.

There are two white ducks at the pond behind Clydes. Maybe peking ducks? Fox lunch?

We live on Middle Ridge Place and have seen a fox pass through our back yard several times - looking for the bunnies that live in our bushes no doubt!

Did not think of it until you mentioned it but I have seen very few bunnies this year.

Here's a pic from last night. Today's project (if the weather holds) is to get some a better camera set up there.

This is just a screen shot or Vitamin D, the green box indicates tracking as an object as opposed to person (it is not in the video if exported). Draw a box in the software for the area you are interested in and it can send you an email.
