    ECONOMIC BENEFITS
    Smart Money magazine notes in a 2003 article that spending 5% of the total value of your home on landscaping can add 15% or more to the value of your home.

    In a 2003 article, Money Magazine found that spending on landscape design offers the best return on investment of any home improvement.

    According to a report called “Economic Benefits of Landscape” by The Associated Landscape Contractors of America, properly selected and placed plants can lower home heating and cooling costs by as much as 20%.

    According to a U.S Department of Energy study, carefully positioned trees can reduce household energy consumption for heating and cooling by up to 25%.

    Experts will share information about sustainable landscaping practices. This will include backyard habitat creation, invasive plants to avoid and how your landscape changes will benefit you indirectly by helping pollinators, protecting local streams and restoring the environment.

    This program is completely free of charge and is brought to you by the Piedmont Environmental Council and participating organizations including the Master Gardeners, Magee Design, County of Loudoun and Clean Water Action, with a grant from Fairfax Water.

    umm.. is it Oct 4th, or is it Thursday? This Thursday is Oct 3rd :). I'd love to attend but Thursday evenings are committed to something else unfortunately.
