Instead of yelping about it, why NOT set up a business catering to the teens???? Maybe you'd be WILDLY successful??? Give it a shot!

If I had the patience, I would set up a place for them to hang out (and spend their parents money). Growing up we always had at least one kid-friendly cool hang out place-ours was a local arcade and a local surf shop (yes, in the burbs of dc). This could be a wildly successful business but it has to be walkable by at least some of the teenage population. Brambleton would be perfect because they already get so much teen and tween traffic. But the rents... Those flex buildings off Redrum would be great for size but they aren't walkable to much. Yes, I have thought about this at length...

200K! Yikes...If you need that kind of salary...I hear the Redskins and Dan Snyder are hiring some GOOD players that can help them get a Super Bowl trophy!

Not really: "Practice squad players practice alongside regular roster players during the week, but they are not allowed to play in actual games. They can be paid considerably less than active squad players: The minimum salary from 2008 to 2010 is $5,200 per week (2008-2010)[1] for 17 weeks, or $88,400 per season, in comparison to the NFL minimum rookie salary of $285,000."

The current promo appears to be $19/mo with a $199 sign-up/registration fee ... works about to about $35/mo for the first year. Not sure if the contract is month to month but I hope to get some more details after visiting.

I belong to X-sport in Merrifield and I am really please with the facilities and the 24x7 hours but our office is moving and I want to find something closer. I tried S&H, too many kids running around and the early closing times of 10 or 11pm, 8pm on Sunday if I recall correctly. I work long hours and prefer a 24x7 facility. Fitness First is a nice gym with good month-to-month rates but it also has limited hours and no pool.

I doubt they will get any transfers from lifetime with that sign up fee. I was considering the move until I heard it was $199 and a two year contract.

I think they also have another plan where you pay $79 enrollment fee and 24.99/month. I visited yesterday and they only have that front part open. The sales person said that front part will be the 24 hr section and the rest of the gym should open sometime in Feb.

I belong to Lifetime and thinking of switching to golds because it is a lot cheaper.

That's just the 'up front' option to entice people with the lower fee. You're basically buying down the rate with an up front payment for the promise to retain the lower rate beyond 2yrs. They have other options that have a higher per month cost without the upfront commitment

Now that the Gold's Gym in Broadlands have been open for several months, can somebody comment on it? facilities? exercise classes (esp. the zumba)?

I also got a flyer that they are offering membership at $39.95/mo, no enrolment fee, no contract, till 5-31-2011 - is this a good deal?

    Thanks.

They need to tint their windows. Can't tell you how many times I've driven by after dark (stuck in the traffic at the four way stop) and I can see everything that everyone is doing in there. From what I can tell, there's lots of dancing and basketball playing...

The old gym had reflective windows - not sure why they didn't do it here

    It's not exactly true.
I signed up over the weekend (new job, closer to home, makes since my gym is too).

no contract = $59 / month. (no enrolment).

In order to get into the < $40 club you have to sign up for 2 years. but no enrolment.

The Mens locker room rivals Belmont country club (not in size though). Nice lockers, a sitting area, sauna and steam room.

I think I mixed up two different flyers.......
Would you know when the $59/month, no enrolment, no contract promo ends? or is that standard?
