If it costs more than 12 dollars, I don't go. I only wish I was better at cutting my own hair...it is so hard to perfectly place the four hairs I like to comb over my bald spot! :D

My mom cuts my hair, she's a licensed barber and has cut hair since the late 60's.

suuuuuuuuure. Now might be a good time to cut your losses (or "cobbles"?) :) Men are barbers (esp in the 60s), women are stylists/hairdressers. So, you've been going to a stylist your whole life! =)

Considering the place she worked was an acutal barber shop, I doubt it. Regardless, when I add up my haircut expenses over the last 29 years, it comes to roughly $18 for the one time I had to have my hair cut by someone else.

hmmmmmm, my first thought upon reading this post was that a man doesn't have a "hair crisis," especially when getting ready for a reunion. may point to a deeper crisis, but whatever. little broadlands barber shop works for me. it's just hair. bigger things to worry about in life.

It's very hard in this area to find a person who can cut mens hair well. If you want the standard "guys haircut" sure any old barber shop with someone who does not understand the english language will do. If you are someone who is looking for something more modern than the 50's in a hair cut it's hard to find.

I've been to tons of barber shops and salons in the area and I've yet to walk out with a decent hair cut that I feel like was worth my money. The only thing I end up doing is let my hair grow out until it's no longer annoying to me.

I'd say the deeper crisis lies with people who like to bash other people on a forum for asking a simple question. Trying to find a decent mens hair cut is a perfectly reasonable question.

Deep crisis, eh? Slow down now...

It's not the question that got made fun of, it was how it was worded.

Actually I agree that some barbers can really mess up what should be a straight-forward standard cut. My spouse went one time to a barber and asked for a "military style" short cut and he ended up with so many inconsistent bald spots all over the back of his head...additionally the front was totally uneven. He did go back two days later as he just hated it and wore a hat all the time. Another barber was able to fix the front but he had to wait until the back grew out. Ever since he discovered Ann at Broadlands Barber he's been very happy. I also happen to think his hair looks great.

Brim, you just like to criticize. That seems to be your role here on the Forum.

    Brim "gets" it, I think.

I wrote it tongue-in-cheek. A hair crisis, is there even such a thing? If there is, it's certainly not related to styles. :)

Anyways, in a day and age where crises are commonplace and serious, I thought it carried a nice light-hearted tone. Even slightly teeny bopper-ish.

Well thanks to you good people and your excellent feedback the crisis was averted. :)

If looking for a nice style that is with the times and not from the 1950's I would recommend Debbie from Eclips in the village. If all you want is short back and sides then just go to the cheapest place you can find, or maybe just a barber shop.
