Anyone know a good local handyman? Unfortunately the man I married is not so handy and my hestic travel schedule has hindered much of my plans for small projects around the house. I need someone to do some easy stuff like install a ceiling fan (wiring is already there) and hang some interior window shutters.

    Suggestions much appreciated.

Mlfrank, My folks used Ray Pertee (703) 707-8158 and were very happy with his follow up and attention to detail. He finished on time and his pricing was competitive. Hope that helps.

We use Mike Rosario, a Broadlands resident: 703-858-1177.
He has his own business and is great!

it's only like 4 wires to hook up -- I bet you could do it in about 10 minutes.

he installed our programmable thermostats and moved them since the builder put them in awkward places.

Great - I will give him a call. Quite frankly if we lived in a normal house, I would attempt the install but things as simple as hanging light have been an issue (VM stripped the holes and we did not have the proper tool to fix the issue).
    What are his rates? Reasonable?

    Donna,

Thanks for the handyman recommendation. I didn't ask but was looking for one to replace my deck lattice. His labor rate was extremely reasonable and he did a great job. Of course, that could have been due to my supervision and help... :D No, really, I'm very satisfied with his work.

For others looking for a handyman, he also does plumbing, A/C, and electrical work beside general handyman stuff, but I can only speak for the lattice replacement work he did for me. One handyman I left 3 voices messages with never called back and another one must have thought I wanted to replace the deck from what he quoted me!!
