A very pushy individual came to my door today around 1pm in Broadlands north and tried to get money for buying care packages for the military. He ignored my very obvious No Soliciting sign. After he left I looked them up online. One the of top results was a petition to have them shutdown. Evidently they are a for profit company out of WV and only a tiny fraction of any money donated goes into a care package.

From looking around, there is another non-profit group with a similar name 'Hearts to Heroes' that is legitimate.

Be weary of giving any money to this salesman.

Most of these are scams. My wife fell for the magazine one once. Never did get the magazines. Now I just tell them to leave or don't answer the door. My favorite is when you ask them for a web address to donate online and they say it has to be in person. Nope
