    Dear Residents,

Wildlife Habitat Committee received 500 trees donated by Loudoun Soil and Water Conservation District. We have located about 5 spaces in Broadlands are for these trees to be planted.

    What is Riparian Trees?
Riparian refers to the organisms that live directly in or on the stream. The Riparian Trees could be considered the skeleton for this ecosystem, as they provide food, shelter, and energy for the other organisms who live in or near City Creek. They also stabilize this ecosystem against abiotic disturbances such as floods, and over-fertilization.

We have 2 weeks to plant these trees, and we desperately need help.

Please let me know if you are available on Saturday May 9th. This would be a great project to do with kids.

If you have questions, please call me at 703-725-8040

Thank you so much for offering to help. If it is not raining I would like to put 30 trees in by the Nature Center on Friday around 9am.
