    Donna,
Exactly my point: Why was the first "deadline" extended?... who extended the first one? Who is it up to, Cliff? The great thing about this survey and the bored (Board) responsible (pun intended) is you do not have to watch Letterman to get a laugh :)

Geez....all this fervor and concern over a survey.
For those that did not get a ballot (for whatever reason), contact Wes Schroeder (729-9711) at the HOA office and explain that you did not get one and request it. Heaven forbid, I do not want to be accused of "disenfranchising" Broadlands residents, particularly the new residents whose names did not make it on the mailing list yet.
For those that wonder about the Dec 15 "deadline", I simply wanted a date soon after people received the surveys so that they would hopefully send them in quickly. If you don't put a date on it or give people too much time, they tend to get forgotten.

I will reconvene our fair and balanced vote counting machine and we will decide what is fair regarding the counting of the remaining incoming ballots. I'm sure our decision will not please all, but such is life. My intent was to count every valid returned survey we receive.

The results will not provide any "mandate" either way, given that 2/3 off the community did not respond. But it looks like the "no" folks will have bragging rights.

Just beginning to wonder...is there a reason why einstein is spelled with a small e rather than a capital E?? :D

Here are the final results from the survey:
824 surveys out of 2082 mailed were returned (40%).
53 were invalid (no name or address, 2 boxes checked, no boxes checked, or 2 received from the same household) which left 771 valid responses.
357 did not support the hospital (46%).
318 did support the hospital (41%).
79 have not received enough information (10%).
    17 had no opinion (2%).

Thanks to all of you that participated. Thanks to Donna for helping me count the last batch.
    Cliff

As you are aware I have worked for the last two years trying to keep HCA from building in our Broadlands community. During that time I have come to know many people at Loudoun Hospital Center. I have grown to respect and trust every individual I have ever met there and have established great friendships and working relationships with them. Recently a job opening was posted at LHC which matched my skills and I applied. I was selected for the final round of interviews, was offered a position and have accepted. My previous job kept me on the road too much, and I'm excited to have an opportunity to work for a first-class organization close to home. I'm proud to work in this new role with our community hospital. Because there has been so much misinformation about so many things related to HCA's attempt to build in our neighborhood, I wanted to be sure you heard directly from me about what I'm doing. Thanks, Donna
