Fourth year in a row now we've had someone cut the wire on one specific tree on our property. We're up on Highview Trail in southern walk. Last year they cut 3 strands as I replaced them and this year on the first night we had our lights up they cut the wire again. I can't believe people. This has cost us over the last 4 years close to $80 in strands that were cut.

Time to get an external camera and catch this idiot.

Take pictures each time they are cut and save receipts showing money spent on supplies... may come in handy.

Good idea, Wish I had thought of that before now. It's gotta be the same person doing it over and over again. Found the spot for the camera now I just have to wait :)

Reminds me of a neighbor who wanted to showcases their Christmas wreath hanging on their door so they installed two flood lights. The lights lit up the entire row of townhouses - more like search and rescue lights. I was waiting for an airplane to land in our cul-de-sac. Every morning, they found their lights facing the ground (no cords cut) but they finally got the message and installed different bulbs.

These lights are the standard low power multicolor holiday lights and are on a tree right next to my garage. They have to be touching my house to cut the lights. They are also on a timer to go off at 11. When I catch them I'm calling the cops.

is the cut near the ground? I believe lights that I had were being chewed by rabbits or ground squirrels. Looked like clean cuts usually but were being chewed

I did check for teeth marks. All of these wires were clearly cut by wire cutters and near the same spot. Very clean. The last one was cut under the tag to make it hard to find. Just waiting now for the person to do it again. If it is a squirrel though I'll get that on video too :)
