We have a honey locust tree in our yard where the leaves are starting to turn brown. It looks like some bugs/caterpillars are forming on the leaves. Looking down our street, it looks like several other neighbors' trees are also affected. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions to rid the tree of these pests? I'm also wondering if since this appears to be a widespread problem in the neighborhood, if the HOA would take care of it, or am I on my own?

Web Worm. Call a tree expert to spray the entire street. About $350 for 30 Honey Locust trees on our street.

The HOA only takes care of landscaping on common area property. Trees on individual lots are the responsibility of the homeowner, even if they were planted by the developer or builder. The Care of Trees is a company specializing in caring for trees and shrubs and the owner is a Broadlands resident. 703-661-1700

And, they're very expensive! Check around before you hire.

That wasn't an "official" endorsement...just a local business who happens to advertise in the newsletter.

Well, they must be giving Broadlands community an excellent discount since we hire them for our tree maintenance.
