Thanks for your prompt reply.
Thanks redon1 for the contact info for Quality Maids. H&R seems to continue to have some follow through issues. A few years ago they were a no show for me when they were coming to give me an estimate. I decided to give them another try given your recommendation, and received an estimate over the phone this time. However, when I called back to schedule with them, he asked to call me back. Five days later, and he never called. So, I called Jaqueline at Quality Maids, who promptly called me back, and we're all set for their first cleaning. And I can't wait!
It is very hard to get H&R to return calls. I found them to do a good job at cleaning but unreliable for scheduling.
wonderful!!! you will be pleased- please tell her i referred you. you should also be SUUUURE to share your pleasure/displeasure with their work here and oh, i dunno- anyplace you think ppl are looking for referrals for companies that do a good job!
I just found an awsome cleaner, Spring Maids. They have come twice so far, and both times, the house is sparkling. My husband didn't think anyone would be up to my standards (can you say OCD??), but they even impressed him. AND, the price is very reasonable!
Could you post some contact info please?
Sure....the lady I deal with is Sonia, she's super sweet. Phone is 703-766-2067.
FYI, to follow up on Maid to Please... I have already cancelled my service with them.... they were not dusting barely anything! And I made sure i picked up EVERYTHING so nothing was in their way.... i called to cancel last month and was told i would get my key back within a few days... i STILL do not have it and have called 4 times without getting a returned call! They also told me i could choose to have someone come and reclean or a refund... i choose refund and havent seen that either!
A co-work uses Molly Maids and they actually quoted her MUCH cheaper then her previous cleaning company and she has been very pleased with them.
I always found these companies extremely expensive but liked the on-time dependability. I have found the best of both worlds - for very reasonable rates, good cleaning and always on time, I would recommend our cleaner Sylvia. She always brings a partner to help her and supplies her own cleaning materials. Cell 571-839-6706.
You might want to change your door locks also if you do not receive your key in the mail or returned to you. Just a thought--
Have a good weekend--
Checking out this thread as we might have to switch our service. We've used the same folks for 3 years and the price has always been fabulous. ($65 for the top two floors of our SFH, $80 if we have them do the guest bed and bath) The last few times, though, even though it is the same two ladies, they haven't done as nice of a job. I wonder if they're trying to get me to fire them so they can pick up a higher paying customer?!
So... is everyone else pretty much in the $100/every two weeks range for their place? 3,000 sq. feet, give or take?
that's a lousy way to leave- to make sur eyour former employer WON'T endorse you for future jobs! but yep- $100-$159 is my norm. i'm quite happy with Quality Maids- on time, nice job, bring own supplies and they don't use all of my paper towels! lol
their number is in this thread somewhere...
I wanted to follow up with my feedback on Quality Maid Service. I've used them three times now, and I would say that they have done an okay, but not great, job. The crew that comes to my house (and it seems that she has a number of women working for her, so others may have a different experience), seem to do a general wipe down of most surfaces, but really don't scrub anything. I also learned through talking with Jacqueline (the owner) that they simply clean floors with water, so while they do provide some blue and yellow potions in spray bottles, those are mostly for bathrooms and kitchen counters. Anyone using their services will probably want to provide some additional cleaning products.
That being said, Jacqueline is pleasant to deal with, they have been reliable, and are also the most reasonably priced company that gave me a quote. Given how much I need the help, and their reasonable cost, I am willing to overlook a few areas that are missed from time to time. I will stick with them for a while, but may look into other options down the line.
Thanks for the recommendation. I am still thrilled to have someone else taking on this chore!
I keep wanting to ditch HR Maids, but the price I pay ($90) for weekly service for my SFH all 3 levels is worth the hassle of scheduling. We usually have a certain day each week that they come and if we don't deviate from it we're golden. However, if I switch days or cancel a week we're screwed. Just two weeks ago they didn't even show! But, the girls always do a fabulous job and we're so pleased when we get home from work. I actually think I'll give Tony a call and let him know that his business is suffering from his poor communication skill.
