I was wondering if anybody has used M.E. Lewis's painting services? I did a search and noticed that people liked Kris' painting service and M.E. painting service. I got quotes from both, and M.E. came in about a thousand dollars less. I just needed some feedback on his work? Any comments, both negative and positive, will be great.

    Thanks,

    Lisa

I can't comment about M.E.Lewis, but we have used Jose Melgar for our painting and he has done a terrific job - and he's very well priced too. I know that manyother people in Broadlands have used him as well, and we have only heard good things. His contact number is 703 671 3467, cellphone is 703 585 8243.

Thank you! I'll call him and get an estimate. I would just like a nice and professional job done, but I don't want to get gauged on it either! (Meaning, don't want to pay over 4K to get part of the first floor painted!!)

    hberg,

I can't email you. There's no contact info for you. You can email me and I'll be glad to give you the quotes I've gotten from both M.E. Lewis and Kris' Painting Service.

Just wanted to add that when we were looking to get some painting done in our house, we contacted ME Lewis as well. We would have used him, but at time, he was unable to get the painting done in the timeframe we wanted. He referred me to Christopher Paints instead.

CJ Gross is the owner of Christopher Paints LLC. He is extremely professional and does a very thorough job. His prices are very reasonable as well. He has painted our two story entranceway, our basement, and our living room and dining room. I referred him to many neighbors, as we have really liked working with him.

His contact information is as follows:
    CPAINTS@netzero.com.
    Phone - (540)661-6338

    Good luck!

I've used Kris for interior and exterior painting, and he is very responsive, and does great work. I'd recommend him to anyone, and I'm planning to have him do a few more rooms here next month.

I liked Kris, seemed honest enough. However, it does look like he has plenty of work and his prices don't seem competitive anymore. His quote came in a thousand dollars higher than M.E. Lewis. Just wondering if that thousand is worth it for a paint job. I'd pay it for something more permanent like a deck or something. But, painting is something I'll probably get done every few years or so. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

We just had Mark Lewis from M.E.Lewis paint two weeks ago and he was AMAZING. Not only was he quick and very inexpensive, he did the most professional job -- absolutely no flaws. I cannot recommend him enough.

Just a quick update. I've gotten quotes for same painting/wood work to be done in our SFH from M.E. Lewis, Kris' Painting Service, and Christopher Paints, LLC. If anyone is interested in finding out who the lowest quote is, pls email me. I hesitate to post it, in case I get in trouble.

why would you get in trouble? It's nothing secret... just give all the details and there shouldn't be any issues. I think it's good to get prices out there so people can keep in mind how much future projects could cost

Ok, here goes. I'm looking to basically get the first floor of my SFH home painted, except the family room and the kitchen. I'm also looking to get some wood work done in the dining room and in the foyer. Kris came in the highest (about 1100 more), them M.E. Lewis (800 cheaper), then Christopher Paints at the lowest (cheaper than M.E. Lewis by 300). I plan to hire Christopher Paints.

If you want a real professional expensive job done at sane rates, I would definitely recommend Mark Lewis. I've used other, less expensive painters and regretted it. And he is better than the more expensive painters I've seen and/or used by a long shot. And anyone I've recommended him to has been very, very happy. I wish I had found him sooner. I am having him come back and repaint the work of other painters.

    M.E. Lewis is the Man!

Totally agree with this. Mark did all of my interior painting last summer. Excellent work and work ethic. And his price was the most reasonable of the various estimates I got.

We had CJ from Christopher Paints do our house and he did an excellent job and he was much cheaper than other painters.

Actually, CJ Paints was the higest bid. There was a second page that I forgot to look over. He charged for the paints separately (but maybe this is bec I wanted Ben Moore).

Can someone reply and provide ball park numbers to repaint a 3300 sq ft home. The home would be vacant, most likely one color to be used, vaulted ceiling in living room. I am looking for really rough estimates based on your experiences.... i.e. 2K? 4K? more???

Based on my experience getting estimates from about three painting services, I'd figure on anywhere between 3 to 5K. Again, just some rough estimates.
