Anyone have a jacuzzi tub in their master bath? Is that a filter attached to the tub toward the bottom below the faucet? Is there any maintenance required with this tub - like take the filter out (if that is what it is) and clean it? Sorry for the question but we got no documentation on the tub at all and have never had one before.

It depends on what type of tub you have. The one installed in my house, Jacuzzi brand installed by NV, requires no maintenance other than occasionally removing the nozzles and cleaning them out. It's also a good idea to check the water intake screen in the type to make sure it isn't getting clogged.

I have the same Jacuzzi tub and the "filter" at the bottom of the tub is the water intake for the spa jets. Its not a filter and does not require regular replacement. However, I would advise to keep that area clear of towels, hair, skin, anything that can impead water flow. If blocked, during jet operation, you run the risk of burning out your pump motor. Also, the suction is strong enough to draw in and hold a head hair under water. Consequently, I would strongly discourage allowing children to use the Jacuzzi tub or submersing your head due to the danger of accidental drowning. Here is a link to a model very close to ours (looks like the Signa model) http://products.jacuzzi.com/nd/alp.d2w/main?ASEARCHIN=signa
