I think for many families, eating out is no longer a routine thing any more. As money gets tighter, I fear that more families will only be eating out on "special occasions" or every once in a while.

I know that is what is happening in my family.

We just discovered this strange room in my house. It has this big box that keeps things cold and next to it is a smaller box that makes things hot. I keep burning myself on this flat thing that gets real hot on the top.

I accidently spilled some food on this hot thing and it actually tasted pretty good afterwards.

I think we will look closer in to this whole cold/hot eating thing.

Now if I can only find a store that sells things to eat that need to be kept cold and then made hot, I could save a lot of money!!!

Where? We already have two Harris Teeters on Belmont Ridge Road.

    1. at the intersection of Belmont Ridge Road and Ryan
    2. at the intersection of Belmont Ridge Road and Route 7

Are they going to squeeze one more in the middle of BRR? :)

Oh wow, that will be handy :)

So how about we Broadlands residents start up a pool:

How many Harris Teeters will there be in this area?

I will put a buck on 20. LoL

Harris Teeter, the Starbucks of Loudoun County. :)

You got to wonder how they are making any money, the Broadlands HT is never busy. I'm still waiting for the return of the spend $40 get $20 off coupons they ran last Fall.

Personally, I'll take HT on BR Rd anyday.

I don't think it will happen but I would love to see a Dubliner or Ireland's Four Provinces move into Kirkpatricks' spot.

I've only been to Village Grill once but wasn't all that impressed. The food we had was good but it's a bit expensive for the lack of ambiance. I think they would be better off lowering the prices and touting themselves as a sports bar since that's what it seems to be.

How about a Murphy's Irish Pub...just like the one in Alexandria - but without the cigarette smoke?

It's called "atmosphere"... But it would be nice to have more places that are "bar-like" and not just restaurants for things like happy hours, etc.

A lot can be said about the demise of KPs. But in hindsight, opening the Haymarket location came at the expense of the Ashburn restaurant, which eventually put them both out of business. I stopped going there shortly after Haymarket opened and I guess others did as well. Whether it was neglect or greed or both, this should be a good lesson to restaurant owners thinking about opening multiple stores.

I guess I don't understand why the opening of a restaurant in Haymarket would have an impact on a restaurant in Ashburn! They're not even close!! You'd rather drive to Haymarket instead of Ashburn, if you live in Ashburn???
