Who are you using for landscaping? Looking for reasonably priced spring clean up to widen some beds and do some mulching. We used A Cut Above two years ago and had some problems with service promises from them, and then last year they quoted us double the cost due to "gas prices", so we did everything ourselves last year.

Any recommendations for someone reliable and reasonable?

    Thanks.

We used H&H Landscaping...in fact, they did just about everyone on our court. Call Carlos at 571-216-3009. Tell him Jason referred you (we don't get a referral discount or anything like that).

We have used Rockwater Farm Landscapes & Hardscapes (www.rockwaterfarm.com) and have been happy with their work.

Thanks Jason. I was looking for something on these lines too and did speak to Carlos & mentioned your name. He recognized immediately and will be coming by to check and give an estimate.
I would not be comfortable going with just anyone. A senior member's recommendation makes me comfortable.
Also, just wanted to know what his rates r like. Its a first time for me - yard job. So have no clue. Mine is a town home & I want to remove the sod/ grass and also do a patio kind of structure (not a deck). Sorry if its too many questions - just want to have a ball park estimate before he comes. Appreciate your help.

    Thanks

We use David Lawn Care and Saul is wonderful. He is dependable, does a great job and cleans up everything. We have been very happy with him.

As our neighbours see our lawn, they started using him too and seem happy also.

    We used American Lawn Brother's:
    http://www.americanlawnbrothers.com/

I grew up with the owner Ricky Hoybach and have known him for 25+ years. They just came out last week and I am very happy.

We had our yard aerated, cleaned up, and re-mulched for $250 (I believe) and we're in a SFH.

Saul's number is 571-236-0368. He is wonderful. We had other companies before, but nobody has been as good. When he and his crew leaves there is no grass or dirt where it shouldn't be, and you can use a ruler on his edging.

I find the prices reasonable, but it depends on what you want done. We have 1/3 of an acre with a lot of flowerbeds and quite a few trees and shrubs, so spring cleanup is quite a chore. He generally charges us about 800, but that includes everything, even hanging flowers for the front porch and the deck and new annuals in the front yard. I have given him pretty much total control on what he wants to do, if I want something new I let him know and he takes care of it. For mowing we pay 40/wk, that is also inclusive of everything. Once in a while he brings by a decoration without charge, just because he thinks the yard needs it. He also does our holiday decorations now, because Ozgood refuses to get on a ladder.

Have him take a look at your yard, tell him what you would like to get done, and ask him for a price. Tell him that Marianne sent you, that will get him there fast. :)

Wanted to report back we did use H&H. They gave us a quote the same day we called, were much less than A Cut Above, came earlier in the week than promised and finished up in about 3 hours and the work was good. Carlos was also very kind. I would definitely recommend them!

Glad you were pleased! What I like most about Carlos is that he actually does the work alongside his team. He gets down and dirty like the rest of them!
