Anyone has a good recommendation for a handyman to fix a laundry washer?
It doesn't drain out the water and stops between Rinse and Spin cycle.

Tried DIY and couldn't figure out the problem.

Used Appliance Pro recently. They told me the repair would be $600, but recommended a new washer for that price. Service call was just under $50. They were quick and professional. See their website....it has coupons.

We had similar problem. I opened the front panel, drained the water from the tubes (have to be careful when doing to ensure that the water doesn't get to the coil) and removed the drain tube from the pump. There was a lump of thread or something (looked like a ball of cotton) blocking the water. Removed it and put everything back. Worked like a charm.

I was hoping I would have a similar problem. So, I opened the front panel (after viewing videos in Youtube), opened all the hoses, checked if any of the hoses have any obstuction but I didnt find any.

Did you remove the lump of thread from one of the hoses or it was stuck inside the pump? Inside the pump looked clear to me, hoses were not blocked etc.

Motor should be fine as the washer runs fine until it reaches the middle point of Spin and Rinse.

I don't know if this is helpful, but our washer had a panel on the front bottom right side where you could open a valve and check for blockages.

Maybe it's not mechanical but electrical. The first year we had our Oasis the control panel had to be reset. Fortunately, it was covered under warranty.

It was electrical. The issue was with the lid switch, it was broken. It was a simple fix, I could have found out and fixed it easily. For some reason, I thought that was not the issue so I was concentrating on other possible issues obstruction in the hoses/pump etc.

Anyway, for a minute of work, the guy charged me $195 (after coupon) and came down to $175 . And the washer is working fine now.

    Thanks for your help/suggestions.

I'll just throw a general note out here - My washer stopped working this summer. I called a guy out to look at it and it took him 30 secs to tell me it would be cheaper to just replace it. The unit was 7 years old. He said that most new washers are only designed to live for 7 or 8 years anymore and usually aren't worth fixing, so if your washer is in that age range, you might consider just replacing it without potentially wasting money on a service call.
