How often do people normally do this for their bathtubs and showers? Mine are not bad but I can start to see some wear in the master bath.

    Thanks

We used Looney's and were really happy when we had to fix some stained grout and repair some bathroom molding. Fun guy to work with.

We gave Looney's a try based on the recommendations we saw on the forum. He was out today and did some grout repairs and cleaning. Looks brand new. Mr. Looney is great to work with - on time, fair price, good work.

I got a quote from Looney on doing our master bathroom and guest bathroom. Included one shower and one tube. Yikes, $850. Granted the master bath is large, but that quote is much more than I expected.

Anyone have alternatives? Other companies to get quotes from? I am mainly looking for grout cleaning.

I have checked most rental places and none of them rent steamers appropriate for grout cleaning.

The home steamers worked great on our floor grout.. never tried in the bathroom grout. I would imagine a magic eraser would last about 30 seconds on sanded grout.

Has anyone used Looney's Tile & Grout service lately? If so, how was your experience? I'm bumping this post because the most recent reply is dated 2012.
    Thank you!

Yea I would like to know too. My Master shower area grout is really showing some wear and tear and think that re-grouting is the way to go but wondered about Looney's as well. I was guessing that something like this was a full day job and would run me about $500....just for the shower area. It would be great to see if someone did something like this?

Going with Grout Medic of Northern Virginia-contact is the General Manager, Charlie Collins. Very honest: did not try to hard sell me on anything I did not need at the consultation (i.e. I was worried about possible water damage behind the shower walls; Charlie carefully checked the tiles and showed me how to look for/listen for water damage. Thankfully I don't have any-just a little surface mold on the caulking and a little mildew in the grout). He also went over how to properly care for the new grout and caulk once the work is done. My shower, which is just an average, nothing special shower, is $475 to completely re-grout and re-caulk. I'll follow up here when they come do the work and let you know how it went.

Yea I have a stand-up shower area with a bench but it is what I would call standard size. I too am worried about the increasing risk of water damage if I do not fix this sometime soon. I used the expensive tile and grout sealer too right when we moved in and have been surprised by my struggles with mold and mildew.... just frustrating.

Grout Master of Northern Virginia did a fantastic job on my bathrooms-they showed up on time, covered their shoes, and went right to work. Kept the doors closed so there would not be a lot of dust escaping (and there wasn't), and carefully cleaned up afterwards. The grout and caulk lines are neat and clean and all the work requested was done (I didn't have to ask them to go back and do something they missed-they addressed every line item the first time).
I'm the original homeowner-the baths look like they did the day I moved in!

Just had grouting/caulking done in two bathrooms plus caulking done around the kitchen backsplash. Everything looks fantastic. Wonderful service by Looney's Tile and Grout. Competitive pricing, too!

@lauralynne -- Could you give a price range of what you paid? We'd like to get something similar done and wanted to get a baseline... Thanks!
