If you haven't already, you should make a flyer with his photo and your contact info, and email it to foha_info@foha.org and other local animal shelters.

I finally got a tip from someone who saw me making flyers that they saw Tank this morning at 7 AM about 200 yards off Belmont Ridge Rd. on Sycolin at the side of the road feeding off a deer carcass. I've spent all morning in the woods in that area screaming his name until I'm hoarse. If anyone is in that Sycolin/Belmont Ridge/Ashburn Village Dr area today, please keep an eye out for him. He looked okay and still had his red collar on.

That's good news. I forgot that he'd be able to find a good supply of food around here. I guess that's why we didn't see him this morning--we were way far away.

I'm taking my son to the Leesburg Airport this afternoon for flying lessons...so we'll go the back way over there and see if we can find Tank. This has become part of our family mission so thanks for keeping us updated.

After the tip this morning, we've been concentrating on the Sycolin/Belmont Ridge area. The deer carcass he was feeding on is at the end of the guardrail on the right as you turn onto Sycolin from Belmont Ridge. Late this afternoon we were driving up Sycolin toward Belmont Ridge and we saw Tank standing on the hill just before the guardrail. I pulled over and got out and said "Come here, Tank" and he looked at me and went up and over the hill. By the time we got to the top of the hill he had disappeared. We went up into the woods there and spent the next hour calling him but he didn't come. When it got dark, we went back to the deer carcass hoping he would come back to it for dinner- he never did.

Tomorrow morning before sunrise, my wife and I are going to park near that deer and hope he returns to it. We are also going to bring our other 2 PBGV's to help out- he's obviously in a terrified state but he may come to his home buddies.

There are a lot of pine needles and leaves on the ground in those woods so hopefully he will keep warm tonight and we can find him tomorrow. Sorry this post is so long-winded but this afternoon was so bizarre- to see him ourselves and then he was gone again, and we've had little sleep and nothing to eat today.

By the way, there are new flyers around with a recent picture of Tank on them, mainly around the west area of the Farm and down Sycolin and Belmont Ridge Roads.

I will take that as positive news ultimately. I think it's a good idea to take your other dogs--Tank may be more likely to come to another dog. We will keep you and Tank in our prayers. Hang in there, get something to eat and try to get some sleep.

Silence, knowing he's still hanging in there and now knowing an area is of great help. It's good knowing he was in the area at 7 this morning and was still there late this afternoon. I'm really hoping our little plan is successful tomorrow morning. Thank you so much for your help and prayers.

Prayers to you and your family. I would let the HOA know too... and maybe even the trash company as he might be hanging around the trash cans in the a.m. looking for food. Tomorrow is trash pick up and recycling.

    Dutch,
I have to take Daisy and Timmy (my two PB's) to the vet tomorrow over at Old Mill in Leesburg and am planning on taking the back way. If you don't find Tank, I will leave earlier, stop in the area, and hopefully my two furkids may "Aroooo" him over to me.

Marie, my wife and stepson and I will be camped out in the area, on each end of the guardrail on the right on Sycolin, just down from Belmont Ridge from sunrise till whenever. Thank you so much to offer your time to help us out. Hopefully we can have a Peeb reunion.

Just some more friendly advice regarding the posters. I know you have more up with his picture, but the ones I've seen are only verbage (the less verbage the better). Plus, your phone number doesn't stand out enough on the signs. When our dog went missing earlier this summer, we had a big picture of him in the middle with our cell number in huge print. We also had his name and the fact that he was a scared dog. Then, we took that 8x10 sign and taped it onto neon posterboard. We laminated the posterboard with tack(?) paper (the stuff you can line drawers and such with). Put up a lot of signs - we had over 200 posted in the Sterling area. Check out the poster we had.

It might help with the people just driving by and if they happen to see him, they immediately recognize your number from a sign.

I know what you're going through...we were there. It took over two weeks for our dog to be found. Dogs are resilient animals and he'll find a way to get food and water.

By the way, we also enlisted the volunteer services of a pet tracker: www.puregoldpettrackers.com. Sam and her two goldens helped us track in the location where our dog was hiding. Even better was that her services were free, but she appreciates money for a tank of gas (she's in Maryland).

Me too - especially with the traffic as heavy as it is... He's all I could think about driving on Claiborne last night, hoping I would spot him back in the area.

We have been out on Sycolin all morning and got a tip he was seen at the Shirley Contractor trailors on this side of the Greenway at 8:30. We went over there and also asked people in Belmont Glen and the Carr Development. Then we stopped at the new Broadlands site at the end of Truro Parish and they saw him an hour ago. He is obviously trying to get back home and he is nearby. Please keep an eye peeled for him this afternoon in this area. Thank you everyone again.
