Lost Dog

Our dog was missing since Sunday (2/17) late afternoon. He's a 4-month old lab retriever, weighs about 35 lbs, light yellow color, with a red collar. If anyone has seen or has some information, please give us a call @703.728.1882.

We are at Ridgeway and Heritage Oak CT. area. Got the puppy before Christmas for wife and daughter. Just started to walk him for about 4 weeks. I hope he remembers home.

 

what's his name, and put something that smells strongly like home outside! his blanket or favorite toy maybe...?

Good luck finding Buster! I'll also keep an eye out for him. You may already know this, but just in case.... As the owner of a dog who "bolts" (thankfully less now than when we first got him) I would suggest when you search that you take a slip lead that can be easily slipped over his head, plus a dish of food. If he is spooked by being out on his own, he may run away from you if you make eye contact, call his name, and follow after him. Instead, if you get his attention, put the bowl of food down and try to look like you're ignoring him, then put the leash on him when he starts to eat.

 

Wife just called me that someone found buster. He ran about 1.5 miles or so to a local gas station area (sunoco). someone drove by and picked him up. They called loudoun animal shelter today. Thank God I called them yesterday and left a message. Shelter gave her our number and they are going to bring buster over.

Very very happy that he's been found. But I gotta ask, did he have a dog tag with your contact info? Tag should have both your phone number and street address (not city, etc. but just the house number and street -- that's for the situation where he is found nearby and the "finder" can just bring him back, not take him home and then call).

 

As a pet parent of 2 dogs, I am so glad to hear Buster is home safely. He's really a cute puppy!
