Erica, thanks for the link to that story by Pearlstein. I really appreciated his reasonable angle on the discussion and reasonable use of examples and calculations. I find it hard to believe that there is a defensible case for Metro being "bad" for Loudoun. People can have opinions on why they would not want it here, but as for a benefit to the county, it seems obvious to me.

And I think it is more reasonable too that home 1-3 miles from a station would see a property value increase. Common sense seems to say this but I thought his examples about this made sense too... I think I will try and attend this public hearing on the 24th too so that these points are made.

June 4th Silver Line Public Input Session

    Hosted By: The Green Team

Have your voice heard in the Silver Line to Loudoun discussion. It is critical that those who support Loudoun Rail Now attend and speak at a June 4, 2012 Public Input Session on the Silver Line.
The Board of Supervisors have until July 4 to make a decision that will impact Loudoun County forever and the Tax Pig and the anti-rail people will be there in force so you need to be there too!
Your words before the Supervisors can be anything you want, but can be as short and sweet as "My name is XXX, I live in XXX, I support Loudoun Rail Now!"
YOU CAN FORWARD THIS INVITATION TO AS MANY FRIENDS AS YOU CAN TO FIND MORE SUPPORTERS.
Advance sign-up for the public input session is available by calling the Office of the County Administrator at 703-777-0200. Advance sign-up is open until noon on June 4, 2012. Speakers may also sign up in person the night of the public input session.
