McCormick & Schmick's Restaurant in Reston at the Reston Town Center is featuring BREAKFAST WITH SANTA from December 2 to December 24, 2006--
    SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS ONLY!

The Santa Event features a photo taken with Santa and his helpers, a traditional Breakfast Buffet with an omelet and waffle station, and a great place to unwind from shopping. Yes, I know this sounds like a commercial--but we did this Sunday on December 3rd and enjoyed it immensely.

The prices are as follows: (Price includes Photo.)

    Adults--$22.95
    Children--$6.95

Contact: Kerry Glynn at (703) 481-6600 or MSRestonBanquet@msmg.com

I brought home a flyer to post on Food Forum. I believe that M&S also has a Sunday Brunch each week. Ask for details at Reston location.

    Kiddos loved Santa and food.

    Good eats.:mmm: :mmm:

    Foodie-
I also saw your imax posting which I would love to try with my daughter as well. One of these days you'll have to tell me how you do all this with 6 kids! I am expecting my 2nd in a couple weeks and I'm trying to cram everything in before the holidays arrive!

    krmckee and others--

Congrats! On your upcoming birth for your child. It will be an exciting time I am sure for your family. You asked how I "do it all"--unfortunately, I "too" get "stressed out" with the holidays, etc. I have resources of helpful sites and info to post later regarding home economics issues. If you need any help, feel free to PM or post queries. Since I freelance for consumer education issues, I will be happy to assist you.

The way that I have "stayed sane--Yeah--right??"--is to not get caught up in having every thing "perfect". To me, the importance of Christmas harkens (bad pun??) to the birth of Christ and all that this holiday means. Giving to others and helping whenever possible is my "momma mantra".

Even if you do not celebrate Christmas in the spiritual sense, not getting "wrapped up" with "things" and giving to others is still a good thing. Sorry to sound so "warm fuzzy feeling".

With six kids, school, etc., I have to be organized. The quads go to bed at night by 7:30 pm and finally twins are sleeping longer. I have always been a "night owl" even when I was working full time. My husband is great at helping out too. A good rule of thumb we have for organizing, if no one has worn clothes that cannot be "passed down" within 3 to 6 months, we donate to charity.

As well as toys, I like simple clean lines in furniture and home furnishings. Kids were shown at 3 or 4 years old to clean rooms and make up beds. Before we go to school, they have to do this chore to help out.
It does require consistency and sometimes we are not successful, but getting the kids to do chores helps. Right now, my sons are putting mulch in the flower beds and readying the garden for winter with my husband.
