Meeting tonight! (1-21-03)

The Web Committee will be holding our monthly meeting tonight (Jan 21st) at 7:30 (7:00 for new folks and general chatting) at the Vistors Center over by the Circle-K. Everyone is welcome! We have some fun things to talk about, and we will have one of the brand new HOA computers setup to play around with and talk about. Also hopefully by tonight (depending on some phone calls today) I will have some good news on wireless broadband to share.

I wanted to make it tonight to see how far you all have come in your search for other broadband options, but I couldn't make it ontime. Could ya fill me in on what was talked about??

 

oh yeah, when is the next meeting?

 

Last nights meeting went great! While we can't disclose anything major quite yet we're now pretty happy that we believe we have found an excellent provider (well they found us is more like it). Due to a lot of details and things left to be done we decided not to disclose anything until we have something actually working this time.

Beyond Broadband, we talked about some cool things we will be doing in the Spring like hosting sessions on digital photography and moving files to a webspace, computer upgrading and other things. We also have one of our 2 HOA computers in the Vistors Center almost ready for action.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, Feb the 11th. If we have any meetings that we need testers (or otherwise) between now and then I'll post in here.

W/out giving us too many details....[:I] Are we looking at a timeframe closer to 2 months or closer to 8 months.....[8D]
Im just excited about the new possibilities and in my boring life it is nice to have a goal to look forward too.... Usually it would be a new car or something, but w/the economy, thats not as practical these days......but new ISP service, well, that is something to get excited about.....yay![]

I wish I could give a timeframe, but with what happened with CWC any timelines/dates I get I have to take with a grain of salt. I had to bite my shoe for every one of the timeframes I gave out last time. Anyhow this weekend I should have more information.

John, Any chance these guys tie into the boingo network? It would be handy of our membership locally got us some roaming abilities too! I sepnd so much time on the road now, it would come in handy (esp. waiting for flights at airports, which seem to have pretty good 802.11 coverage these days!)
