Does anyone know of a waitlist already for Mill Run - or know how the Kindergarten sessions break out?

The Sunday Post had an article about overcrowded Loudon schools and mentioned a waitlist at Mill Run. According to the Principal, they didn't anticipate that such a large number of homes would be finished already. They are sending waitlisted kids to Sanders? Elementary. Not sure where that is.

Did they mention how this problem will be solved in the next few years, and how they can justify sending a child in Southern Walk to Sanders?

Sander's Corner is in Ashburn farm. It is a nice school.
My youngest daughter went to 3 elementary schools and two middle schools. The two middle schools were different than the one my older daughter went to. We lived in the same house the whole time!!
Don't worry about Sander's. It is a good school, very established and settled. be happy. The new ones are more difficult because everything is new and there are no "traditions" and that sort of stuff.

Oh, just to clarify... we were living in Broadlands. My younger daughter went to Ashburn Elementary (village), Dominion Trail Elementary (also village) and Hillside (B-lands). She went to Harper Park middle school (Leesburg) I had to drive her because the bus took route 7 and there were dead animals on the road and she got freaked out over that. She went two years to Eagle Ridge Middle school.
My older daughter went to Farmwell Station Middle school all three years...

My friend in South Riding is driving her twin boys to Farmwell Station MS this year... go figure.

correction: two stinking years at Harper Park MS! one at Eagle Ridge.
I guess what I am trying to say is. When the kids are little, they don't really care. It can be "an adventure"
and they will make new friends in other 'hoods. We tried to be supportive and not let on that it was a pain in the butt. Kids don't do well when parents are unhappy with complicated issues.
Sander's is a very good school.

    Speckhard-
A new elementary school will open in Belmont Greene next fall. This will affect the attendance zones for Hillside and Mill Run. Public input sessions have been scheduled for October 16 and 20.

I appreciate the feedback but it will not affect my child until a few years still. I was just curious and interested. But have since been told No.VA is famous for underestimating enrollment numbers. Having never sent a kid to school before - was curious what the solution will be.

How do you base your knowledge on whether or not a public school is considered good or not? I was told Mill Run was an Excellent school - who knows a few years down the line, but is this based on your kids attending or some other factors?
