    Fellow Foodies--

Just ran across some news about Mimi's Cafe. I guess I was partly correct--there will (as far as I have been told) will NOT be a Bob Evans built near Dulles Town Center. Instead, Mimi's Cafe is OWNED by Bob Evans Restaurant group.

I am guessing it will open by Fall 2007. Great news for all you "foodies"!

Here is a link with info--

Is this what they are building next to Chuck E Cheese's? I drove by yesterday and I've been trying to figure it out...

I've eaten at Mimi's in California. It's really good. They have a wonder choice of salads and home style meals. (open faced pot roast sandwich was really good). Can't wait till they open here.

    thanks for the update

    ScuubyT, Chsalas, and others--

Yes, Mimi's Cafe is being built next to Chuckie's Pizza.

Glad you enjoyed the update info.

We've known that it was a Mimi's for months now. Great place. Good food and fantastic for kids. And they serve that elusive northern virginia cuisine--BREAKFAST.

    Fellow Foodies--

I ran across the Grand Opening date for Mimi's Cafe at Dulles Town Center in one of the local papers (Loudoun Independent, I believe, can't recall the exact paper). The article was in the Connections newspaper (Cascades edition which I picked up today at the Cascades Library).

Apparently, the date is set for October 4, 2007, Thursday at 4 pm for Mimi's Cafe to open.

Hopefully, it will be a good place for breakfast or other food selections.

We took ourselves (and kids) to Mimi's Cafe at Dulles Town Center for an "early bird" dinner. Food was good as well as service. It was busy but not too busy.

The breakfast is 7 am to 4 pm daily. Check web site for details/info. We think it will do better for breakfast foods, etc. Give it a try!

7 AM is a tad late to open for breakfast IMO.

FANTASTIC. we had such stellar service we called the manager over to let him know! the sandwiches are big enough to share and full of flavor. I had the blackened chicken on ciabatta- the sandwich had so much character and flavor I didn't want to take the last bite!
my hubby got meatloaf and mashed potatoes- SO much more meat than loaf, and i swear my mon was in the kitchen browning onions for that gravy... YUM. great atmosphere reasonable prices, outstanding service- and a very nice bar. 5 stars for Mimi's welcome to the hood!!!

    redon1 and others--

Yes, we thought their food and service was good also. By the way, redon1, hope everything goes well with your time "laid up" at home.

If you want some FREE apple fritters, PM me and I see what I can do.

Dalyn and I went there last week for lunch.

The service was superb, don't know why so many restaurants don't understand what great service means.

I had the swordfish which I would not normally order at a place like this, but was extremely surprised how good it was.

The prices are also good for the quality that you get, actually I would of spent more for swordfish as good as mine was, but don't tell anyone that please:)

Anyway we will certainly will go there often.

Cliff you need to expand your circle a bit and try this place. ha ha ha ha:) Only Cliff knows what I mean.

He also saw last night a few of my friends that might join us at happy hour just to protect me from you all ha ha ha ha

Cliff left the meet and great for Stevens Miller a bit earlier then usual so he must of been very very very afraid of my friends. ha ha ha

BTW if you have not had a chance to talk to Stevens Miller especially one on one he will certainly come off as a person who knows what this county needs at the moment. And he is extremely honest and has the morals especially to be our county supervisor.

    Lee--

Yeah, my kids liked Mimi's too. I took them to breakfast this morning early before a doctor's appointment. Great place to get a quick bite.

    Lee-
I didn't go there to meet Stevens....known him for years....but you promised me a beer!! Which, of course, you didn't have. Had to steal one from a guest!
Been fighting a bad head cold and was exhausted, so I did leave a bit early.

I was just teasing you good buddy!!!!! Inspite of the rumors and misconceptions about me,ha ha I rarely drink and almost never at functions I have given. That is why many times my guest know to bring there own beer or wine. ha ha ha I just have not trained you yet to bring your own like my other buddies did. :) At least they had a beer or two for you. As I knew they would.
They actually left a few just in case you drop by:)

We were very happy with this restaurant. It is one of the few that keep a FULL allergy list. Our son has multiple food allergies, and they keep a very detailed list of ingrediants and common allergies. Fantastic!

Well, we went for lunch today, and the service was fast, efficient and friendly. The food was really good. I had the soup and salad combo, which came with this huge blueberry muffin! My husband got some grilled meat dish with onion, bacon, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Also, the bread basket had slices of carrot and raisin bread in addition to the long dinner roll. Since I only have limited time for lunch and the service was so good, we'll back again for lunch.

Went last night & was pleasantly surprised. We sat down & the hostess asked if my two kids wanted a snack (the obvious answer is YES)...she brought a small bowl of cheerios, crackers & an orange slice for each of them - both plates came with a finger napkin & a bib...:-D I had the Roast Beef Dip sandwich and was very excited to eat the leftovers today - mmmmmm
