We have an area that has settled where they backfilled and it slopes towards the house. This has caused a little bit of water to seep through the wall into the basement during heavy storms.

Does anyone have any recomendations for landscape companies that can put in fill dirt and grade the area away from the house?

Issues like this are supposed to be fixed by Van Metre. I would check with them first. I have had them fix several issues with our grade now. They have been very quick to fix them.

We just moved into Broadlands 4 months ago and are living in a 5 year old house built by Washington Homes. Would they (Washington Homes) still be responsable for fixing the grade?

hmmm, 5 years. Probably not then. The landscaping and grade is only covered in most cases for a year by the builder. You probably will need to find a landscaping company to fix it then. On that note I don't know of any that I could recommend. Depending on your insurance you may be able to get the insurance company to pay for it because of the water getting into the house. You may want to look into that.
