And have neighbors who don't mow their yards, deal with Verizon digging up yards to put in FIOS that people complain about, idiot drivers on Vestals Gap and Chickacoan, 4-Way stop signs at every intersection, day care homes that cause rush-like traffic and a big empty lot where a huge office park will be someday???

    No thanks! ;)

But we are paying for it. Maybe you don't live in SW but the money for HLS comes out of our own pockets. How would you like paying for a weekly service only to have them come out every other week instead at the most? Maybe you like flushing money down your toilet? I certainly don't. And I don't have a Wii or drive a Lexus. Laziness is not the issue here.

Yeah, but we are not paying much for that service (individually) and for what we are getting, it's pretty darn good. I would like to see them cutting more and a little more attentive to a few things, but realistically, look at how much rain we have gotten. It's hard to keep up and things are going to slip through the cracks a little. The rain is really unreal, I don't think I have ever seen a damp raning period like this in the past 10 years I've lived here, at least not during this part of the year. We are getting the lions share of rainny weather.

    Chatty -
Some homeowners pay $265+ a month in HOA's fees, albeit $149 of that is Openbad service.

However $118 /mo is the BHOA Courtyard homes fee, which includes lawn service. We pay for this service UPFRONT and pay MUCH higher rates than folks in N B'lands TH or SFH (those rates range from $49-$79 a month).
Why would SW Courtyard homeowners buy a mower considering we pay nearly $480+ a year for lawn service?

You might want to check you facts before casting judgement.

Does the contract state "lawns to be mowed weekly" come hell or high water! Or is there a clause that says "weather permitting".

The contract reads "...seven to ten days, weather permitting."

Yes, a little bit dug in the yard and we now have the choice of TWO services for telcom, both of which are cheaper than Openband. And we can cancel them!! And I don't have to pay the company if my neighbor doesn't pay his bill! (And I wouldn't compare the number of complaints about Verizon versus the complaints about Openband. You'll end up way out on the short stick of that one!)
But we don't have to deal with the drivers on Ridgeway!!
Get ready.....a daycare is coming to SouthernWalk!!!
But we get to play in the big empty lot and enjoy the trees an fields!! :devil2:

Thought it was "The War of Northern Aggression"? :D

And let's see if Cliff gets any modifications approved to the exterior of his house anytime soon. :nono:
The "South" DOMINATES the Modifications Sub-Committee. :p
(ok, not really, but he cannot vote and we would have one more vote)

You think Clydes cares if money comes from the North or South? ;)

Besides, American Flatbread has the BEST beers!

Yeah, except none of you people from the "south" ever show up for the meetings.
Who are the two that are at virtually EVERY meeting? Two from the NORTH!!
