Don't let the location in Old Ashburn on Ashburn Road fool you- this place really IS a hidden gem! they did a fabulous job recreating the inside from when it was Spicetown. the cuisine is French cafe and then some. I met the chef and owner- just the sweetest, most joyful lady who can cook her TAIL off.

despite being French, the food is NOT laden down with fat and butter- and the freshness of the herbs and ingredients is VERY apparent. they bake fresh baguettes daily, and do things with a style i have yet to see any place else in Ashburn.

ya'll are gonna LOVE it- can't wait to hear what you think of it!!!

Wow, I wish her luck...not easy opening up a new restaurant in this economic climate, especially in that location. Hope she does well.

yeah, it's a horrible location. and it's pretty fancy food- i didn't see chicken fingers on the menu. but you would appreciate the fresh and healthy nature of her cooking tyger.

anyone interested in a field trip to this place? a Broadlands Dine Out Event...?

As I posted, I wish them the best but I hope they have a back up plan for when their place fails in this cruddy economy.

I hope they did their market research and it indicated that this area is ready for another nitche eatery.

I hate to be a Negative Nelly but knowing the restaurant's location I doubt it will last long. It just isn't a good location for a nice restaurant. If Jerry's Subs couldn't make it there I don't think a fine French restaurant will.

Still, I hope it works out for them and I'm proven wrong.

Yea and don't forget about the Panache closed down due to serving fancy non-kid foods as well.

We were just talking with the owner of Mezza Grill today and he told us Michelangelo's rent was $15,000 a month. Yowsa. I wonder if they tried to negotiate a rent reduction with their landlord?

The owner said they were doing well. They don't get much of a dine-in lunch crowd (does anyone around here?), but he said you need reservations if you want to eat dinner there on the weekend.

i went last night with 2 of my kids. they do, indeed, have chicken fingers. my daughter loved them. my other daughter had a hot dog. they were given really yummy milkshakes and the staff was very nice.
my food was good. it didn't blow me away, and i felt like it was pretty expensive for what it was. but i only had a ham and cheese sandwich. i had a really yummy strawberry/coffee mousse with custard. portions are small. the food was all good.
they definitely have a good kids menu.

I tried Paris Prestige out.... unfortunately we won't be back for a while. The waiter was excellent, and we actually really felt for him. There was nothing coming out of the kitchen. After being there for about 55 minutes, a soup finally came out. Then the kids meals came after about an hour. Both boys said their food was great. Finally the adult meals came. I should note, just about nothing came out of the kitchen during that hour we were waiting except bread. The soup was reported to be excellant (but why such a wait for soup)? Two of the meals were excellent, two were a little over cooked. Overall, not worth the wait. We didn't stick around for dessert as we saw many others were still waiting for their dinner - and they had the look on their faces too - wheres our food. Also to note, they have not yet gotten their liquor license. A couple left because of this. We thought about going to buy a bottle and return, had we realized how much time we would have had we probably would have.
