"They have pledged to have all toters and bins delivered by 3 PM on Saturday."

Been out of town, still no toter/bin yet...is it just my area or still waiting community-wide?

We haven't recieved anything... neither has anyone around here ( Southern Walk). I am extremely disappointed :( . It probably would have been a better idea to have the services overlap a week or two incase of this sort of malfunction... critters keep going thru my trash bags at night... And I am definately not keeping the trash inside since it will stink...I dont think I will believe the containers are coming until I see them in front of my house, as both times they have said the containers are coming, they never came....

If you are concerned about the "smell" of leaving bags in your garage, these guys may sell something that will help. If you are not willing to pay $10 to alleviate the situation, than maybe its not as bad as you say. I know that we have a new service, but these guys basically came in and SAVED the HOA, which in turn is you and me, much more than $10.

Okay, given gas prices and the proliferation of SUVs around here, it may cost you in total $20.00 to pick one of these up.

I think you'll survive. I put trash out in bags alone all the time without issue.

Again, I put my trash in the garage every day without a lid and I think its doable. I mean, its not like anyone is asking you to put the trash in your master bedroom. Simply put it on the floor, and if it smells.. it will go away in a day or so. Its not a terminal issue. There are literally HUNDREDS of townhomes in this community that have survived without provided toters for years. I think the single family homes can survive for a week.

Hi All! I'm trying to get up-to-date here since my husband told me we no longer had a trash can. I wish to confirm my understanding of this thread...the way I read it is that the service has been switched from AAA to another company. Therefore, AAA likely retrieved their cans at some point during a pick up and we residents should be receiving new cans soon from the new company? Is that correct or do residents who wish to have a trash can go out and buy one themselves?

    Thanks!

    Hi Carol-
Read the "New Trash Service" thread. It explains it all, but you are assumptions are correct.

So, can I put the AAA toter and recycle bin out for New Vision to hall away? It seems AAA has no intention of coming to pick it up. I'm in SW in a TH. I just want to know it's ok before I do it. However, I guess keeping it in them garage a little longer shouldn't be too much of an issue since we don't have our new toter or recycle bin just yet.

    Thanks!

    Cliff,

Thanks for the confirmation....I'll apprise my husband accordingly!

It;s actually kind of amusing following this thread and makes me appreciate how well taken care of we are in Broadlands...here I have to save every decent bag I receive since they are in short supply....and you don't want me to start on garbage issues! I'll have to insert a photo instead!

    Steve,

[Post Edited by Moderator - watch it, no personal attacks are allowed on our fourms. Follow the rules please.] For as much as we pay for these services, we are ENTITLED to a freakin' garbage can -- NOW, not sometime in the future. We don't live in the ghetto -- we don't need to be throwing our trash on the floor of the garage.

    Amye,

you are correct, as part of the contract, each residence will get a toter. However, NV got blindsided by the company they contacted to supply toters.

Now, if I were a conspiracy theorist, and knowing that a nationwide concern bought AAA, and that this concern may have some clout with this plastic's company as they buy thousands from this company (hey, I've got an offer you can't refuse ... stiff NV, you keep our business); one could think that NV was put in this situation by AAA's parent company.

Nice theory, could it be true ... possibly. Why else would this plastic company call the day before they were suppose to deliver to say that it would be another 3 weeks !! This after confirming that the toters would be ready 6 weeks prior when they were ordered.

OK ... lets move on. Garbage kept in the garage, in large black trash bags, closed and tied off, will not create a smell with the type of temperatures we've been having lately.

A few days of inconvenience will pay off in the end.

What are you talking about? Is it me or if everyone feels like you are touchy on this subject?

I agree with dkukrer, this shows their and our hoa's professionalism. It is not the money I would be concerned about. They have delayed the delivery twice . If we all know that this will be delayed for 15 days I would buy one too. I am paying for the service and don't wan't deal with these kinds of issues. The money is not an issue, it is an annoyance to our community. I would expect quality from the services I get.

There are so many things that I am annoyed about our HOA but I am quiet and patient. When someone tries to defend an obvious mistake, I will not be quiet. BTW, I wouldn't jump in, if you didn't flame this.

This is not a space issue or townhomes versus single family. I expect service from the company I pay. If you didn't receive the service and you were quiet, I think it is a big problem. Don't forget, it is your money and you need to DEMAND the service.

Blindsided!? Hate to say it, but this is NV's problem, they should have checked with their supplier weeks ago to make sure they could deliver. I think Broadlands is entitled to compensation for the inconvenience this has caused its residence. I don't want hear about "oh we can deal with it" or "just use trash bags" etc.

This is the silliest thing that I have seen on these boards yet. What inconvenience is it to have to put your trash into lil bags??? What would your idea of compensation be? I know that us that live in Broadlands are doing well in life, but so well that we think not having a trash can is the end of the freakin' world?
