I feel like I live in Napa Valley with all the damn whining going on. So you don't have a toter for a few weeks, WAH, WAH, WAH. It is better than paying an additional $5 every month for the crappy service we got from AAA.

We don't have our toter yet and we are just fine. A corner of our garage barely taken up and no smell. Funny how that happens when you secure your trash bags.

COOPER - if you don't like how the HOA is managing the community then DO something about it. There is a seat opening soon so why don't you run for it. Then you can put your money where your mouth is.

I agree 100% with you. I think if you complain you should do something about it - RUN FOR OFFICE! I also think this issue is very low down on the gripe list. The fact that anyone is actually using brain cells over this really shows me just how "me centric" Ashburn is. Yikes!

I just hope NV's inability to supply totters on time is not a sign of things to come.

Oh my gosh, this is crazy! I can't believe how spoiled Cashburn is. Does someone NEED my toter more than me? I'd gladly wait for another one. I'm amazed by the amount of garbage that gets thrown away here. In CA we had to pay by the size of our container and we only had pick-up once a week. My family of 5 (with one in diapers) was able to survive on one 64 gallon size pick-up a week. If we had more than that we had to go to the garbage company and pay for special bags to show we paid for the garbage we were throwing away. There was even talk about making us pay for our garbage by the pound. Even here I keep my garbage habits small, I only need to put out garbage once a week and at that my container is only half full. Now what I do need is more recycle containers. We put 2 of those out each week and they are full to overflowing normally.

Have you all NEVER dealt with a company that had a delay in supply? Have you ever had to wait longer than the snap of your fingers for something to happen? I know there's things in the paper all the time that stores are stating that they didn't get enough of something in to honor a sale price. I've even had appointments to get my car fixed on a recall and the part hasn't been in on time. Have patience please, there are MUCH more important things to show our concern than where to put your trash for an extra day or two until pick-up.

No, I will not run for HOA since I don't have enough time as it is.

I see your maturity on discussing the community issues. I have no further comments.

Wow.. if that's your definition of ghetto or 'lesser living' I think you need a serious eye opener.

I hope some point in the future you have to move to an area where you don't even HAVE trash pickup. Where you get to take the trash yourself to the transfer station or dump. Where you have to put the trash in your personal vehicle.

Then lets see you face all your neighbors and tell them how you hate living in the 'ghetto'.

Its amazing how we have serious problems or even things that actually impact people's personal lives or livlyhood.. and the biggest reaction we get is over stupid trash cans.

Let me guess.. I bet your cars aren't even in your garage.

AAA could take a very long time to replace a trashcan.. yet no one complained about that?

NV's reputation and service was verified with existing customers.

Cooper - first, I will never admit to being mature. It just isn't fun! Second, your last post sounds immature. You come accross as a little kid who is not getting his/her way so you are not going to play any more.

Furthermore, you complain about the HOA and you "don't have the time". Sounds like a cop out to me. If you truly care AND want to make a difference, YOU MAKE THE TIME. Everyone I know that participates on the board or a sub-committee has a full-time job and most have kids.

Oh and BTW, NYAH NYAH, I will have plenty of posts on most matters! :D

Let's try to get back on topic.

I live in the Southern Walk area and do not have my new trash or recyling containers yet.

Can anyone provide an update as to when they will be delivered?

Lets not forget how quickly NV actually got setup for us and in a competitive fashion.

For those of you who can't look past the end of your driveway.. the HOA was bent over by AAA and basically told to start paying more money with very little notice. A cost that would have had to be passed onto all of us. Instead a new contractor was found, setup, and negotiated before we had to endure the strongarming of AAA for extended periods.

We could have been stuck paying more with AAA with the same crappy service for much longer. Something that would have affected your life each week AND your pocketbook.

Instead AAA got told to go '---- yourself' and we had trash pickup with NO INTERUPTION. Not having a few trashcans is unfortunate, but given the possible alternatives its quite pleasant in my eyes.

Homer lives in a townhouse AND does not have a toter??? I did not think this would be allowed in "The Broadlands" (using my best Thurston Howell voice)

    I say, BAN him! :D

BTW, I am exhausted after this morning... I had to make TWO trips to get my trash bags down to the curb instead of my usual one with a toter! ;)

Lol, it's New Broadlands and Olde Broadlands. In that episode Homer built a wall to split the town with trash, how appropriate!

On a comment previously: I lived for years having to drive to the dump. Not a big deal, except if your county sticker was out of date! And I have been to Loudoun's dump, it's very nice compared to others around the state.

    Cliff,

I am glad the HOA is being responsible with our money. I don't care if the toters are late. I don't have one yet either and I live in the townhouses. I have seen other HOA's in other areas that were irresponsible with the community finances and, if nothing else, the change in the trash company shows that our HOA is looking out for us.

    Thanks,

    LvBlands3

Ha! I was thinking this was the root of all the complaints! Having to walk 20 feet to the street is where all of the anger comes from. I found an easy fix to that problem, though. I went out and purchased a golf cart so I could drive my bags to the curb. It's hot enough to break a sweat out there! :D

All the complainers are killing me. Reading this thread is a big joke. NV is busting their rears to deliver what they can when they can. They were out on sat in the rain delivering toters to my street. My guess is when they get a new batch they are bringing them out as fast as they can. Have some patience, and a reality check. Missing a trash can is a minor issue in life, how about a family member being sick/dying, or losing your job, or getting hurt in a car accident, or something serious. Try a little perspective.

Once we get the Trash toters, what will all of us broadlanders talk, excuse me, complain about ;)

:( Its sad that you cannot post your concerns and dissapointment without being ganged up on.... personally I am disappointed with the service and I will not hide it... When something is promised I hold them to their word and when the promise isn't met again and again then it is just a lack of trust. This is not a matter of walking the trash to the curb or paying 10-20$ for a toter from home depot. Its about doing the job you are promising to do and the EXCELLENT service you say you can provide. I am not seeing this with NV right now,but then again its obvious that some people are missing what I am saying....
