    Here's the latest-
All single family homes should have their toters by tomorrow. I'll have more info about townhouses later. New Vision reported that many people were refusing them, so they held up delivery. Part of the problem may be that they were delivering the large toters to the townhouses since that was what they had. More to come.......
Recycle bins. About 50% have been delivered. Another shipment expected today and New Vision plans to have them all distributed by Wednesday.
Leftover AAA stuff. Leave it out at the curb this Thursday. We're asking New Vision to throw them all out. If this plan changes, I'll let you know.

I am sure that is exactly what AAA is hoping for. Move the disposal fee to NV. AAA gets away with no dump fee for the items, and they don't have to pay personnel to remove them. What an upstanding organization -- that AAA.

That's fine. Be upset about the service. That's fine to discuss. But the people getting 'ganged up on' aren't complaing about how NV isn't holding up their bargin. They are complaining like it is unbearable or an insurmountable burden to not have a trash can.. which is absurd. Its a simple situation with SIMPLE solutions. Yet people want to make it out to be some crisis.

That's an excellent point afgm. I guess if they have no desire to 'reuse' them this certainly sounds like the 'best plan' from their perspective.

Someone should offer to round them all up.. so we can donate them to the ghettos in the area that can't afford their own ;)

I truly doubt that "promise" is in any legal, binding contract between our HOA and New Visons. Have you personally heard any "promise" made from NV?

I think everyone here that still does not have a toter would like to have one but some of us are just not so bent-out-of-shape about it.

Well it seems that the smaller toters were backburnered or forgotten about by either NV or the manufacturer. It's b/c we're the ghetto! ;)

Not a big deal since I already have a trashcan. Just want to know when so I don't run it over in the drive way by mistake.

Another question about the TH and the toters. It's my understanding we can get a bigger one AFTER the original is delivered, correct? Who do we contact to replace it? As long as it's not windy, not having the new toter isn't a huge deal. And, no icky smells have come out of the garage either!

Just wanted to point out the NV was kind enough to empty out the AAA toters that people are still filling and putting to the curb. One guy even waved to my daughter who was banging on the window and waving to him. See, they're not so bad. They just need time to figure it all out. I'm sure you were all new to something once.....

Have a great day everyone! Enjoy the beautiful weather!

    Townhouse update-
New Vision will continue to try and deliver toters. If you do not have one and want one, or if you have one and do not want it, or if you have one but want a different size, contact New Vision directly at 703-830-7908. Mention you're a Broadlands townhouse, give them your name, address and what you want.

Single Family folks, please wait until Wednesday before calling if you still have not received a toter.

Are the toters smaller than what we had before? The ones they delivered to the single family homes in Southern Walk seem smaller than the AAA because I can not get as much trash into them. Just wondering.

Not sure about the final numbers, but the new cans are shorter but wider. I'm sure using some higher math stuffs, they will equal out in size.

Cliff -WOW! - You and Neil have really taken your lumps with a great deal of professionalism. Thank you for your efforts in selecting a new service provider and keeping us updated. I really admire the level of patience and restraint the both of you have conveyed during this change. Keep up the good work... with that said now I have to run and clean the brown stuff off my nose :)...seriously THANKS again for everything you do for the homeowners within Broadlands!

Cliff, why do the TH have to call? I thought we were all equals here? This is not about the toters or not having one at all. I understood why we had to do it with AAA (not that I agreed with it) but I thought with NV we were all getting one. Why are the TH different? Not trying to start anything, just trying to understand what's really going on! Thanks!

Please review what Cliff said on Monday 1:39pm:

Some townhouse residents were refusing the toters, so the delivery people were confused and held up delivery. Later in the day he said if you have a large toter and want a smaller one, call.

And finally, if for some reason, you have not received a toter by Wednesday, call. If you have to call, and you're in the townhouses, let them know what size you do want.

    Hope this helps.
