So the HOA dumps AAA and now we have to do the leg work to obtain a simple trash can. I called NV this afternoon and one is on its way or so they say. HOA should being handling these issues not us. Like anything else, if you want it done correctly do it yourself or if its not broken don't fix it. Remember you get what you pay for, and its not starting very well.

I was not pleased with AAA's service. I think it needed to be fixed :)

So, you're in a TH, too? Just because of few TH people refused the new toters from NV shouldn't mean all the TH have to do the leg work. I know the TH are supposedly equal to the SF homes, but I don't believe they are. But, that's another thread and I'm not starting that one!

For those of you who need to call, you'll have to leave a message and wait for a return call and then hope you're home to get it or you'll be playing a game of phone tag...all for a toter and recycle bin that we shouldn't have to call them for. Apparently, NV doesn't answer their phone.

BTW.. on a general theme that is NOT if you are speaking in terms of what people pay or what services they receive.. and its not a discrimination thing.. but a differentiation in services and cost explicitly.

TH and SF are equal in terms of representation .. but what people pay vs what services they get vary throughout the neighborhood to a degree and its not just based on SF vs TH. Certain sections get more services and pay more, etc.

On a good note, they just called back and said they would try to deliver my toter and recycle bins (I'm paying a ONE TIME $4 payment for a 2nd recycle bin) today. I'll let you know if they do!

I'm referring to the whole trash can thing. I realize that some areas pay more for more services and I'm ok with that. But, as far as trash pickup is concerned...there is no difference except in the size of the original toter (which can be changed, which is nice). I don't believe that the TH should have to call. What will happen is most won't and we'll still have flying trash. Many of my neighbors didn't even know there was a new trash company!

    Enjoy your day!

The tote has arrived!! It only took 2hrs. from the time I made the phone call. The only reason it arrived so quick was I told them I was switching back to AAA that got their attention. Good luck everyone you will need it. Also, in the future when the HOA issues a new contract to replace Open Band in 400 yrs. please give us 1-yrs. notice so we can all go out and rent a trenching machine to run our own cable from the dishes to our homes.

I'm still waiting for ours that they said would be delivered today. That call was 3 hours ago but there's still daylight left.

mejrd, you need to put pressure on them the HOA is not helping the TH people on this one, our HOA dues are lower than SF homes. You know the old saying "money talks and bs walks.QUOTE=mejrd]I'm still waiting for ours that they said would be delivered today. Yeah, I'm sure they were terrified about the prospect of having you "switch" back to AAA. Especially since you would still be paying NV for service through the HOA. :screwy:

2-hour turnaround seems pretty good to me. Yet you twist it to be a bad thing.

It's a garbage can for goodness sakes. Chill out, folks.

    Prima Donnas...

I could care less about the trash can it is how the HOA handled the contract. Yes 2- hour turnaround was good, thats the job of the HOA to make sure we have the cans on time not the homeowners.

No, The job of the HOA is the managment of how our neighborhood is run and to see that the best value is gotten for our dollars. That is why the HOA mad a change in service. A major changover like this is a logistical nightmare, however it's a small bump in the road. It's not like your home is going to explode with trash if you don't get a can to put it in.

I don't blame the HOA for the toters not being here. And, bugging them won't get anything accomplished. They didn't know anymore then NV knew that there would be a delay. I'm sure they wish everyone had their stuff as much as people want it. I personally don't mind waiting for it, I'm just annoyed a bit that I had to make a phone call and play phone tag to get it. It was my understanding that as far as trash removal goes, we're all the same. I guess I was mistaken.

I'm annoyed by this too. We shouldn't have to do the leg work. I should have a can delivered w/o having to call. If I end up playing phone tag I'm gonna be pissed.

Ok, so if I am catching the general idea, if I live in a SF home and I have not gotten a toter by Wed 4/12, I have to call New Vision to get them to deliver it?

So, we got our toter today. When will we get the recycle bin?

BTW - "toter" is such a gentle name for a garbage can, don't you think? Is this political correctness creeping in? Why can't we just call it what is it - a garbage can? Anybody offended by that?

As I posted on April 9 at 7:02pm, this HOA Board member offered to PERSONALLY deliver a toter to you. I even posted my phone number. I guess you prefer to complain anonymously rather than take me up on the offer.
The HOA negotiated with New Vision to get FREE toters delivered to ALL townhouses, and you complain about having to make a call.
No offense, but get a life.

Feel free to use AAA. They will charge you about $30-$40 a month instead of the $13 you're paying through the HOA.
